We sold our allotment. This is a Thursday night neutral site game. It could've been worse.

This is accurate, we were initially only allotted 12,500, we asked for more. You'll see on the screens, there will be many more Gamecocks there than tarholes. That's b/c WE RUN THE CAROLINAS!!!!!

yeah - just look at all those Georgia fans dressed as blue seats at BofA last December...45K announced attendance.

ftr - Chapel Hill is 51 less miles to Charlotte than Athens.

Charlotte is 8 hours from me and I had to work at 6:45 the next morning. The post I responded to said he was an hour away from Charlotte and worried about rain. That ain't nothing to worry about.

Guess you skipped the whole overpriced tickets part.

It's going to be a boring game atmosphere wise. Why shell out money for that?

Every situation is different. Part of it is me just being a dick. But part of it is true. I'd be thrilled if there was a game within an hour or so where I lived and $100 is worth it in saved gas alone compared to driving 10 hours a weekend for home games.

Columbia is an hour away from Charlotte. Most people even in Charlotte won't go because they'll simply be able to drive down for the Kentucky game the following week that's on a Saturday and isn't ridiculously expensive.

For what it is worth, I feel that one of the reasons there is less demand for away game tickets is at least in part due to the blatant price gouging, especially given that that majority of the blocked off seats are always somewhere in the stratosphere, If you are going to pay those type of prices, why not just go find better seats online closer to the game? The same thing has happened to the bowl games: fans just finally wised up.

How many people in here that are not cock or tarheel fans would pay $100 dollars to see a Thursday night game???

College football has changed from being a sport students could easily travel for to being a venue reserved for those with deep pockets.

Honestly, there is almost no way a working stiff could afford to take both the time and the resources to make a trip for a relatively meaningless college football game that they could watch with all of their friends at the local bar for 10% the cost of actually attending.

But you sure as hell wouldn't sell out a neutral site game.. on a Thursday... an hour after everyone gets off work... for $100.... to sit in the upper deck.

UGA Ad administration knows better than to test that theory with UGA fans. They stick to Saturday games.

I live 30 minutes north of Updown (what Charlotte calls their downtown), and pondered going. I could leave work an hour early, and be fine.

But I have no interest at those prices. Whoever set them is thinking too short term, and even doing a lousy job of that.

It's in freaking Charlotte. I'd think they'd be able to fill up for a UNC/USCe game just with the local population.

UNC's Kenan Stadium only holds 63K, but they didn't have a single sellout last season. Averaged about 54K a home game. Play a basketball game in BoA, and you'll then see a sellout....
