This is more than frustrating. Other SEC teams 10-2 but Vandy has to get 11-1. Right. Special rules ‘cause Vandy. Love the talk during their game with UGA that an 9-3 Texas would get in before us. After the greatest year for us in 100 years. —We still have to win out— With one of the most exciting QBs in the nation. Man, we’ve been cannon fodder forever. and now we do well and get screwed again. I’m old. This will never happen again. All I wanted. Just once.

If it makes you feel any better we are all rooting for you to make it this year. It will take some upsets but it’s not over. Probably need ole miss to lose to state and/or Oklahoma to lose to LSU or Mizzou. We’ll do our part and beat the whorns

When was the last time an SEC team other than Texas played a road game at a Big 10 school?

A 10-2 Mich that beat tOSU would be interesting. They lost to both OU and USC, other 2-loss teams that would be in the conversation. Can't imagine the tOSU win would trump H2H result.

In the Big Ten, Ohio State and Indiana are locks and Oregon controls their own destiny. Michigan would need help because of their head to head loss to an Oklahoma team that just beat the #4 team on the road.

I’m starting to think that the Big 12 gets two bids with BYU and Texas Tech.

CBS is ready and willing to lobby against Alabama.

CBS quote:

"Alabama: Despite Saturday's loss to Oklahoma snapping the Crimson TIde's eight-game winning streak, a victory over Auburn in two weeks would be enough to push them into league title game. However, a loss to Texas A&M and a 10-3 finish would be enough -- we're projecting -- to push Kalen DeBoer's squad out of a first-round bye opportunity."

The fifth-place team in a conference doesn't deserve a playoff spot.

Do 10-2 teams from the SEC deserve bids? There’s likely going to be more than four of those

If BYU wins out and goes into B12 title game with only 1 loss (to Tech), I gotta imagine they are in

Most, if not all. 2-loss SEC teams would beat 1-loss teams from other conferences, imho. Which is why the 9 game conf schedule is going to hurt the SEC in the playoffs

If I recall, there wasn't an SEC team in the national championship the last two years. Am I mistaken??

This is dumb take. Going to 9 conference games had to happen. The playoff will be expanded, and SOS will become more of a factor.

SOS is supposedly already a factor. An SOS that I can’t find anywhere (even though there’s several others that are easily accessible and proven accurate) . This committee SOS also has no known verifiable formula for calculation. The A&M SOS was 78 before playing and beating number 22 Mizzou on the road. The following week the A&M SOS actually rose to 80!!!!! tOSU and Indiana have higher SOS than almost all the SEC playoff teams

All signs are pointing to the CFP committee being frauds. Sankey has let this happen. He’s let ESPN have total control of the conference. We’re moving to 9 games without any assurances that the B1G will require a P4 non-conference opponent

Sankey needs to go and the next guy needs to: 1) ESPN 2) CFP committee and 3) B1G + notre dame…..hold these entities accountable or the SEC should leave the NCAA in football and find a better way.

The ignorance of the system by many posters in this thread is staggering. One - Miami is not getting in because of the playoff rules. Real fans already knew that and corrected the morons.

Second, someone said playoffs with auto bids are stupid. Every freaking sport has auto bids. MLB and the NFL has Division winners getting auto bids. The NBA has auto bids based on conference standings. College football is the only sport that even has a polling system. It will be gone once expanded into the 20’s.

Another poster stated we shouldn’t have auto bids and just rank the top 12. Ok, so who gets to rank? I’ll volunteer.

We all know where this is heading. An expanded playoff where each conference will be given 4-5 auto bids and it will be up to each conference to decide who they send. When it goes to 24 I imagine each of the P4 get 5 auto bids for 20 spots. Then G5 get 1. That leaves 3 spots for ND and 2 other spots for a couple of 5th place teams.

technically with the win over OU...if both have 2 L's we should get in over them...but it's better to lose early or sure.

Bama stays at home even though they finished top 2 in the conference

Won’t happen. Conf championship games make too much money and this would kill them immediately.

So as of now, that’s Miami and Navy getting in instead of BYU or Utah
Navy is likely not going to the AAC title game...doubt they make it.

Did someone seriously say that a 2 loss SEC should get in over other 1 loss teams? Your SEC champion can’t even make a Natty title game the past 2 years. Y’all need to stop living in the past. Saban is gone. LSU, Florida, and Tennessee are ACC level programs. UGA is the only program who has carried the past into the future and it’s all because of Kirby. Once he decides enough is enough they’ll find their version of Deboer and the shine will be off. Kiffen at UF will be the next SEC power after Kirby retires.
