Respectively, and I mean this, that might be the worse thing to add to college football ever

Especially when going to commercials right after airing commercials!

Wasn't CBS bad about this?
team scores
PAT
*break for commercials*
line up & kick to other team
*gotta go back to commercials*

Relegation

Edit to expound.

The bottom 2 FBS teams at the end of the year drop down to FCS. The top 2 FCS teams move up to take their place.

Last year, South Alabama and Louisiana Monroe would have dropped down to FCS, while Illinois State and Montana State would have moved up.

It really is pathetic

The soccer play has been excellent but the lobbying for yellow/red cards is embarrassing.

It's an interesting thought.

We really work extra hard on clock management in some American sports.

It would take so much of the modern game away if we didn't know exactly how many minutes and seconds were on the clock at the end of the half and game. It would lessen all crap we have to go through to finish a game in basketball, or all the posturing for a possible last second FG at the half in football. But OTOH, if a team was driving, would they let them finish the drive?

So many things to think about. Less commercials is good, but then they would pay less for the broadcasts, which is fine by me. They have already figured out how to weasel some extra commercials in with the hydration breaks, so they would figure out the commercials eventually.

Eh, just get rid of the clock. First to 100 wins an NBA game. First to 30 wins an NFL game.

Please give us a schedule rotation that would work around this.

Could be some pretty quick games.
Yet, again, could be some LONG games.

However, how will you handle weather delays? Do teams have to continue the next day (requiring lodging issues)?

Agree on the long and potentially short games.

For long games, just say all games end after 4 hours of real life time. For weather, play through it. It is football.

So, let's say a team in NC drops down & a team in CA moves up. You're fine with all that cross country travel?

& what if there's an annual rivalry game...is that history ended or do they keep it on their schedule?

2 Sunbelt teams are promoted to the SEC and two SEC teams are relegated to the Sunbelt.

You just swap the conference schedule for each. Simple.

When the system is implemented, you make it standard across all Conferences that non-conference games will only happen at the beginning of the season or in the last week for rivalry week.

It's simple. All conference games will take place around those parameters.

Any home conference games that the relegated SEC teams had will now be home games for the promoted Sunbelt teams. And vice versa.

Every professional league around the world manages to do this every season. I'm sure we will be able to figure it out..
