Who’s a player from your school who, overall, was just an average to below average guy but had that one great game or play that defined their careers? For LSU I have a couple that come to mind just in the last few years. As we all know, Anthony Jennings was not SEC QB material (nicest way I can put that), but in 2013 against Arkansas, Jennings came off the bench and lead a miraculous 99 yard game winning drive in the final minutes of the game.

Another nomination for LSU would be Logan Stokes, a second string TE whose only career reception was the game winning TD over undefeated 3rd ranked Ole Miss the following season. As if Ole Miss being undefeated and ranked 3rd wasn’t weird enough, him scoring the game winner was even weirder but still awesome.

michael johnson almost singlehandedly helped us beat AU in 02 to win the east. He also had a field day against them in 03 but that game was never in doubt

Greyson lambert set the all-time NCAA record for completion percentage in a game against SC in helping force spurrier to quit football

Richard Samuel toting the rock in the 4th quarter to put away Florida. Looks like tarzan teenager. Didn't have a lot of those moments. But that game, he wouldn't be denied.

Dabo Swinney at Bama.

Never did anything at Bama and Stallings basically gave him a scolly because he felt sorry for him.

I think he caught three passes all year his senior year but one of the was a clutch absolutely must execute reception that gave Bama a fresh set of downs and let to the go ahead score to beat Florida in the first ever SECCG

Tre Smith - RB - Auburn

In the 2002 Iron Bowl the starting RB's Ronnie Brown and Carnell Williams were out with injuries - so was starting fullback Brandon Johnson.

True freshman Tre Smith got the start in Tuscaloosa and ran for 126 yards and led Auburn to a win

Matt Wyatt vs. Auburn 1999. The most incredible comeback these eyes have ever seen.

Down 16-3 with under 3:00 to go. Matt Wyatt in mop up time leads State to an 18-16 win.

Tristan Davis averaged some crazy rushing number against Kentucky one year. Something like 18 yards a carry and over 200 yards. He was moved to Safety after that and only contributed on special teams.

Demontre Carter ran all over thUGA one year. Then he transferred to Troy when Caddy and Ronnie Brown came in.

Not an Aggie fan but Kenny Trill vs South Carolina comes to mind. Also Trevor Knight in the sugar bowl vs bama, and Gene fricking Chizik for winning a natty.

And then in 2006 he returned a blocked punt to help beat #2 and eventual National Champ Florida.

Although he was an above average player imo, Trey Burton scored 6 TD's against Kentucky his freshman year in 2010.

Went 2-6 that year. You could have put a guard back there at QB and he would have scored 6 touchdowns.

Christion Jones. He was fine for his career but one game he had a punt, kickoff, and receiving touchdown

Some white, stocky, 250 pound Defensive Tackle played the game of his life in the 21-0 game
