It's a week 2 ranking and you can make a good argument they deserve to be #1 right now based on this year's performances
I get the "we went back to back" but in actually what you did last year or the year before is not as relevant as what you have done this year
They have the best win on their schedule until it's proven otherwise

I'm fine with FSU at #1. They played and beat the shite out of a real team. I like rewarding folks who played a real game, unlike almost everyone else.

My issue has always been people need to look at the team in front of them, not the team from last year who won/lost 15 games.
OSU shouldn't have been preseason #4. They may well end up there, but they have a new QB and 3 new OL.
UGA shouldn't be #1 if people don't think they are the best team. Them winning in 2021 should have nothing to do with a 2023 poll. How many of the starters in 2021 are still on this team?

I’m sure for a lot of voters it is exactly a power poll. In fact week 1 it really should be a power poll. One game played - who played the best opponent and looked the best? As the season progresses it becomes more of a body of work ranking.
Hell of a lot better than basing it on previous years like you would apparently have them do.

It will all work itself out by season's end. No sleep lost over people thinking FSU looked good in a top 10 match up. Not like we played anyone with a pulse.

Ppl laugh when a UGA player suggests there was somehow a narrative they would go 7-5. Nobody with any credibility whatsoever made that prediction lol
If they want to feel disrespected because a few ppl voted them #2 instead of #1 so be it I guess

I don't think LSU will end up 6-6, but early in the season polls should drive a little slower until things start to shake out a bit.
That said, I don't care that much as things typically work out in the long run, and i think most times they make pretty good decisions.
