If you will check the post I was responding to, he was saying any school who signs him should be ostracized. My response was basically saying that in this environment, and that environment should be changed as far as the portal mind you, schools and coaches have to do what they need to do to survive, and if a school and coach thinks this dude can help them, it shouldn’t be held against them if they sign him. People can stand on principle, certainly, but there’s principle and there’s the unemployment line.

And hell yes he could have survived on the deal in place, and him and his daddy are about to find out that they should have left well enough alone because any team that does sign him ain’t paying that, no matter how much they might need him

And that’s what happened and Tennessee handled it just right. I’ve never said otherwise. Like the other guy, you missed my point, and that I was responding to someone who said any school that signs him should be ostracized. What I said was it’s silly to hold it against a school for doing what they need to do in this environment if they think the dude can help them. And hell yes he got greedy.

Gotcha must have missed the point.

Still blame tenn for having their AG sue to make their initial contract legal. Glad they said goodbye but honestly I think it was a business decision, he simply wasn’t valued anywhere near $4m

It could be worse, and they could be on a 4-year run of losing seasons.

While hilarious, let’s not overlook how retarded Tennessee was for paying him what they were.

Good on them for finding an out.

Was it the UNLV QB who did that last year?

Disagree. That's just the way things are now. The market for a top QB is set by Carson Beck at $6 mil. Based on the discussions the past few days, it appears that a typical elite QB is worth around $4mil. Id say 10-2 and a playoff appearance is worth $2.4 mil. He was not worth a dime more than that, and that's why he's gone.

That's the market for a multi-year grad tranfer starting QB with a national championship under his belt.

Nico's mistake was thinking he is the same as a veteran proven QB, based off Nico's recruiting rankings and potential.

Much like the NFL corrected and quit paying unproven rookie QBs, so will college football begin to correct.

That ended up not being his fault, they didn’t have the NIL. They got some flack a couple months ago from their AD stating they weren’t sure how they were going to pay Mullen

TN won despite Nico's mediocre play. He is not a 2 million dollar QB.

UNLV said they never promised that QB a 100K and now the kid is at James Madison getting lunch money NIL after abandoning his team.

Carson Beck is not making $6MM. $4MM is what the unconfirmed number is, and I doubt it's that.

Agreed. But at the time we signed him, his market value was 2.4 million. Hindsight is 2020.

Ok let’s say the ceiling is 4mil. My point still stands. $2.4mil was not bad for his potential/ stars/hs stats and for what we got out of him.
