Geez ... he should pull a George Costanza and just show back up at UT like nothing happened.

I don’t feel bad one bit. The minute he decided to sit out of practice and not show up told me he believed every bit of what his agent and dad were telling him.

On top of that he left Heupel who features the QB more than any school in the SEC
Also, less prestigous program and less talent around him.
Dude made a MAJOR miscalculation.

The worst part: it is his own side that is leaking the numbers. Right now they need a team more than they need money.

I said this was going to happen.
He lost all his leverage like an idiot.

Appears he lost to Carson Beck yet again.

They is no way you take that guy back after he kept trying to put a gun to TN head.
That locker room would have been a shitshow had they let him stay.

With Tulane and UNC pulling out already, he might have to pay UCLA at this point to play for them, their NIL and AD are both completely broke

This is fricking fantastic. I rarely root for people to fail, but frick this shite. Kids don't know how good they have it.
Of course they should be compensated, but they can't just go through spring practice then all of a sudden wanna try to renegotiate and basically hold the team (especially his teammates) hostage.

He's going take a pay cut for sure.
Now he just needs to decide whether he wants to take a guaranteed starting job at a smaller program or go compete for the job at a bigger program, although he'll be behind the ball in doing that.
Congrats Nico, you played yourself.
Knoxville and $2.4 million don't look so bad now.

Are you saying Nico could not have survived on the 4 year $8 million dollar NIL deal that was in place?

Nico and his daddy are like Buford T. and Junior.

Disagree. He got greedy period. Anyone of us can walk up to our boss, make a case for our value and ask our salary or compensation to be double or we are holding out and I guarantee 95% of our bosses would tell us to take a hike.

Class of 2023 for QB might be biggest bust ever.
Class had 5 consensus 5*, about a dozen high 4*s
Lot of transfers, not a lot of starters…

Hard to be a good college quarterback if you're never anywhere long enough to develop, learn the system, and build chemistry with your line, receivers, and coaches.

When he threatened to hold out last season before the playoffs, did they give him more money?
Posted on 4/15/25 at 3:16 pm to GeauxBurrow312
This is only the beginning!! NIL will ruin college sports. Football will no longer be able to afford to bankroll other sports as it did in the past. I enjoyed watching college sports because I felt like the college athlete gave it their all. Now it is a business decision, which is no different than nfl. I think you will see a decline in the overall product on the field bc it’s now all about money. Giving an 18-20 year old millions of dollars! What could possibly go wrong??
