From Oats’ initial remarks (for which he later apologized) to Miller being patted down during Saturday’s pregame introductions before a win over Arkansas, Alabama’s errors have been self-inflicted. When asked to grade Alabama’s public relations response the past two weeks, Erik Bernstein, the president of Bernstein Crisis Management who has worked with high-profile athletes, told On3 bluntly: “It’s got to just be an outright fail.”

This is correct, also.

But what about Bruce Pearl’s health crisis?

That sweaty obese slob is going stroke out or have a heart attack court side.

Holloway will be a good player but Auburn needs some more consistent shooters around him, especially with Jaylin Williams graduating (I guess he might use a COVID year, that would be a big get).

Yes, absolutely. We definitely need more shooters…

Talent hasn’t been a problem for Auburn this year?

Are you joking?

Your preseason ranking was higher than BAMA. Face it, Bruce spent a little too much time behind the BBQ grill this season. And now he's sad.

Your preseason ranking
This is the absolute worst justification you could’ve come up with.

Media opinion doesn’t equate to actual talent. Preseason polls are always awful top to bottom.

The only thing Bama is guilty of is having a shitty PR team who doesn’t prep Oats before his press conferences. Their should have been someone waiting for him as soon as he walked off the practice floor to brief him before he made the “wrong place wrong time” remark

It's on Pearl. Look at the poor old aggies, half the talent of the barn but they have heart. With Bruce, you get thugs and the WWE, just not heart.

This AU team is not talented at all. We don't have the guards and shooters. Maybe some good role players but nobody compares to Jabari/Kessler talent-wise...

This bama team is the best team in UAT's school history and we are re-building...

You guys should be worried about recruiting... Bama only landed Miller because he is a legacy player (and this also attracted Bradley). Other than that, Bama's future basketball recruiting is subpar...

Bradley committed to Alabama a month before Miller did.

There’s things we should worry about with Oats and his staff, but recruiting to his system isn’t one of them.

How many starters did Auburn still have on the floor at the end?

There’s your answer.
lol. Your strategy is to try and physically beat up the superior team and then get mad when you get into foul trouble

2 SEC Championships in the last 3 seasons. Gee, I think we'll take our chances, Nostradamus.

My friend's been blaming it on Covid. He said everything was ticking along for Bruce and AU was clicking before covid hit. Then the covid season caused the bluebloods Duke/Kentucky and AU to not care enough to even try to make the tournament.

He says Bruce was seriously concerned with the pandemic, FBI fallout (Chuck Persons), self-imposing severe NCAA sanctions while other teams were buying players pre-NIL. Other teams were building solid foundations while Bruce had to juggle the NCAA.

We couldn't recruit for quite some time pre-covid (maybe 1 year or so) and then add covid - so overall, maybe 2-2.5 years without active recruiting trips/visits. We were also slow with NIL adjustments (because of the ongoing NCAA investigation). Recruiting is much improved now, hopefully this is a good sign...
