I think they will still have lots of success and compete for SEC championships. I just think they will look more like everyone else in the SEC and lose more games. After Saban I don't see how they could possibly keep up recruiting at that level. He's a giant piece in their recruiting.

Like L6U did when Saban left?

Who knows, maybe we'll luck up and hire a DL coach that nobody wanted and who speaks in backwater gibberish.

The big question is what will all you clowns do when the new HC wins a national championship a year or 2 after walking in the door.

Dabo will keep Bama playing at a high level. How high is anyone's guess, but what he's done at Clemson with fewer resources, is as impressive as it gets.

If you ever get a bunch of them you'll find a lot of national titles in the trophy case helps salve the wounds when it goes south.

I guess you don't know what 'regressing to your mean' means.

Over their history Alabama averages a championship every 4-5 years.

I do love how all of you other fan bases just assume that Bama will fall off the face of the earth. Y'all are gonna be very disappointed. No Bama football will not be near as dominant as we are with Coach Sabah, but y'all act like Bama will start having six win seasons every year. Alabama will still be Alabama just like Kentucky will still be Kentucky when Calipari leaves. You sons of whores will learn that real quick.

Couple things..

1. If he would have left a few years ago, I could see Alabama fans(the good ones, screw the ones who aren't) being pretty salty. But goddamn, at this point, how can someone be upset when he leaves? It should be a great day to celebrate everything that this man has done for the University and people accociated with it. It's been a truly glorious ride that nobody will ever forget about. As long as football is a sport, Saban's time at LSU and Alabama will never be forgotten.

2. Don't new coaches tend to kick some arse when they're left this much talent? Doesn't it sorta bring a new focus to the program?

And if Alabama knocks the next hire out the park, the melt form opposing fans will be monumental

There will be another master in about 20-25 years with a decent one in the middle. We've had 3 master coaches Wade, Bryant and now Saban. We had Thomas after Wade and Stallings after Bryant. I'm thinking Dabo probably is a Thomas/Stallings type. He'll get a statue but we'll long for that super coach who should arrive when my grandkids get in highschool or college.

They have a ready-made coach in Dabo Swinney who will take over. The guy has been two two playoffs in a row now… at Clemson. The NC game last year was basically his interview. If memory serves, he played on the Stallings NC team, right? He's probably pacing the floor waiting for his chance to go home and take over a loaded, well-oiled Alabama program and sustain the success.

It makes me sick to think about, really.

The day Saban retires will be glorious, sure.

It's the day 4, 5 years later where Alabama is a shell of their former selves clinging to their Saban days after being smacked down on a weekly basis that get me giddy.

Another L6U fan who thinks football started in 2000 and 2000-2007 is the norm, not the exception.

Actually that isn't for sure. Miles kept LSU going for several years and Saban at LSU isn't in the same ballpark as Saban at Bama. No offense..... but he's going on year 10 and has several left in the tank.

Yes Dabo did play on Coach Stallings 92 NC team and yes Dabo will be more than happy to come home. Bama football will not fall off the face of the earth ever. Just like Kentucky basketball tell its recruits. "We had tradition before you got here, We will have tradition while you're here, and we will have tradition when you're gone". Same with Bama football.
