I liked y'all better when your pitching sucked donkey balls.

To be fair, they didn’t even face a National seed their entire time in Omaha.

We beat the teams that beat the seeded teams. Not to mention Miami. Has to be the worst argument a State fan can come up with to diminish the title. Also worth mentioning we played the hottest teams in Omaha. COVID played no part.

im not diminishing the national championship. this thread was about the pitching performance in omaha an how they compared to other teams. i think you would agree that if you played better than the 14th best team, those ERA would be a bit higher.

if my words hurt you, here, this should make everything ok:

The 0.852 WHIP and the 4.57 K/BB ratio are ridiculous considering the competition were all good teams.

Help me understand this logic, the national seeds were better than the teams they lost to? Does that make Tennessee the REAL champion? Is Arkansas not a real team even though they beat everyone else they played?

That's crazy. Can't imagine what MSU's era would have been like last year if we had had an instate rival to inspire us and reveal what's possible. Feel like a proud papa right now. Getting choked up.

We also gave up some garbage runs to Arkansas in the game 1 massacre...

Garbage time scores, pulling starters in blowouts, etc. are always a component of stats.

Having said that, those are very impressive pitching numbers. Congrats on the natty, you deserved it.

Their pitching was lights fricking out all post season. I just tip my cap to that. Hot pitching trumps anything else another team has going for them.
