Ole Miss people have a lot of pride for some reason.

The primary reason that Ole Miss fans are upset with Lane Kiffin’s comments is because they have a sense of pride for their school and state. I don’t know where this pride comes from.

Ole Miss has not had a good football program over the course of my lifetime. They have not won an SEC Championship during my lifetime and they have never played in the SEC Championship game. Their entire athletic department has less than ten national championships in its history.

Mississippi ranks towards the bottom in many important categories such as GDP, GDP per capita, quality of life, medical care, education, etc. The categories where Mississippi leads the rest of the country are usually negative categories like obesity.

There is really nothing special about Oxford or its campus. The place is incredibly overrated. The grove is incredibly overrated.

Nationally, people don’t think about the university of Mississippi at all. Regionally, Ole Miss is known primarily as being a backup school for kids that aren’t smart enough to get into more competitive state schools.

Ole Miss people don’t recognize any of these hard truths. They are completely delusional. They are like Texas fans except Texas fans objectively have something to be proud of.
