ah, an oldie, but still a goodie. got me.

btw the which school is better topic flares up all the time, and never gets resolved to any satisfaction. nothing wrong with a degree from any sec school.

I am in engineering. I obviously think engineering programs have the best college degrees. UGA doesn't have an engineering school or one worth mentioning that is a knock against them.

i thought UGA had a cooperative program with GT, so basically UGA engineering students end up as georgia tech grads. seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. party at UGA for 2 years then move over to atlanta and finish at a great school

Oxford >>>>> Auburn

Greek life pretty big at both schools. Might even have more freedom at Auburn.

Auburn football atmosphere >> Ole Miss

Auburn generally regarded as a better school academically

Auburn is a bit more "country" I guess.

Ole Miss is a bit more "preppy"

Both schools will give you a good college experience. If you're going Greek, both are great, but overall, Ole Miss has the better social scene. Auburn may be more rewarding in the long run though.

I'm mainly looking to join a fraternity and party while watching SEC football, and the hot women of course...sounds to me like it's Ole Miss, I apply July 1st they sent me mail saying I'm already accepted for the most part...Auburn a bit harder to get into

Have you tried UGA? I know its not in the SEC, but UT is tough to beat (unless they are playing LSU in baseball).

I'm currently looking around for colleges, and this is my ranking of "college experience"...

LSU > Bama > Ole Miss > Auburn > Arkansas

- good college town w/ New Orleans close by
- Like most of the SEC, women aren't a problem... not very impressive per capita like Ole Miss, though
- great campus (like most every SEC school) that has a lot of construction in the future.
- awesome athletic program
- great party school
- It seems as if the criteria for attending Ole Miss is having a shite-load of money, and that really isn't the case for LSU.
- I am, however, oblivious to where LSU stands w/ all the Greek shite.

If that's the case then please do all of the Auburn grads a favor and don't go to Auburn. That way when you graduate and area dumbass you wont refelct badly on the rest of us.

Seriously, go visit both places and see which you like better. I was virtually offered a full ride at Ole Miss without ever sending them anything but my SAT scores. I went to Auburn and fell in love with it - it was the only school I applied to and I never regretted it for a minute.

I live in Atlanta, was raised here, and I have been to Memphis. Memphis is a nice town, and the music scene beats Atlanta hands down when you are talking about the small venues like the ones on Beale Street. That being said, as a college student I would much prefer to be 90 minutes from Atlanta than 60 from Memphis. Access to all four major pro sports and two minor league teams; much more likely to have a major concert tour come to Atlanta than Memphis; in general a shitton more to do.

don't get me wrong. oxford is nice but it's not any different than any other college town not named Starkville. And the "ole miss women are hotter" dogma the preppies throw out is also a myth. there are hot girls on every campus in america. i'm not dissing on ole miss because i make the away game every other year, but they do not party or have hotter girls than anyone else.

Auburn. You'll get to go to games that are in a college stadium and not a high school one.

I have nothing good to say about Auburn other than it's a nice stadium and close to Atlanta. I know there are a lot of great Auburn posters on this board (BRING BACK CPA!) but it screams "blah"! Sorry guys.
