A basketball player on the court is a lot different than a guy that played limited on special teams in football.

The whole game was Muffin pulling the long con. Let them win, get up big, put an ineligible player in, make them think they've got the trophy back, and then boom a year later hit them with sanctions. Classic Muffin.

Plus the game is being moved to Thursday this year, making it not a full 365 days.. Dan is such a drama mama..

@kyleveazey: I didn't lead with the ineligible player. He was a walk-on, you know. I led with a funnier story from one of the violations.

I wondered the same thing but I thought it was fitting in with the sarcasm from the loic comment.

A real HC would kick a player who was paid to play for his school off the team. Integrity and shite.

If that were the case, you could combine everyone left on all 14 teams and still not field a team.

Surely we could field a couple teams based on the walk-ons.

We could split them into even teams and call it the Integrity Bowl.

They could tagline it with "The return of true amateurism to CFB!"

Just to clarify my stance, I don't think anyone is dumb enough to risk forfeiting games and drawing NCAA scrutiny by intentionally playing an ineligible walk-on.

But if I were an Ole Miss fan, I'd be worried about shite like this slipping through the cracks. Seems like the compliance dept doesn't have the attention to detail they should.

I don't see how they can help if no one notified them that his scores were being looked into.

They are too busy emailing Incarcerated Bob, BeastMan, and every other person who emailed them when Freeze asked everyone to email them with violations.
