Ole Mundane is a great nickname for the team who has played in the only 2 entertaining playoff games so far. Keep it coming.

You’re telling me Pete Goldings defense getting ran through like shite through a screen door isn’t must see TV?

You do know LSU gave up more yards a game then OM did this year, against ranked teams lsu, against conference teams LSU. LSU had some dudes on defense as well. When Pete had an elite D in 24, they avg 311 yards a game, 279 against ranked teams. Lanes distractions ruined it for us that year.

Playing a semi-final.game on a Thursday night is stupid. All the playoffs games should be Friday and Saturday games.

Anyone with an ounce of brain power will understand this is the problem. Ratings for Friday night would not have been that low... look at what a shitty blowout Friday night got

Last Friday’s Indiana-Oregon Peach Bowl was the most-watched of the semifinals with an average of 18.0 million across the ESPN family of network

It was one of the best games of the playoff era, but man driving into work on Friday morning was rough... some people just don't care or have the dedication, I'll do it for college football or baseball but NFL can go fly a kite, not staying up to watch the Houston Texan/Oilers play in Pittsburgh on a monday night.

How many students does Miami have? Their band looked tiny on TV. Like, maybe it had 50 members. Most SEC bands have 300+ members.

I forgot there was even a game until like 2 hours before kickoff. Whoever thought a Thursday night game was a good idea needs to be fired

Thursday/Friday prime time was the best option available. Guess they could have scheduled them for 11 AM on Sat & Sunday, but even then, NFL pregame coverage would’ve cost them massive viewership.

There's still a better way to handle this than just 'oh well'-ing the NFL as they gradually take every single day of the week

Eliminate CCGs (happening anyway eventually)
1st Saturday Dec.- Round 1
2nd Saturday Dec.- Round 2
3rd Saturday Dec.- Round 3
NYD- Championship

No way he lets the kicker kick 55 yard FG.

You could probably count on 1 hand the number of coaches that would trust a college kicker to make a 55+ yarder.

Golding is either one of the smartest or one of the dumbest/luckiest.

Lucas Carneiro was 1 for 2 in 50+ yarders in the entire regular season. He was 4 for 5 in the 2 playoff games.

That’s a funny joke. How many unnecessary fourth downs would Ole Miss have attempted in that game?

Agreed. That's what I posted earlier about shortening the CFB season to avoid the NFL playoffs altogether.

ETA: I'd be for going back to 11 games (8 SEC + 3 OOC) to improve the regular season & doing away with CCG's. Would also fix the problem of players opting out of the playoff to not miss the transfer window.

OM time of possession this year was ranked 102 in the nation out of 136. Only 34 other teams had their defense on the field longer than we did. LSU was 69.

2024 LSU was 16 in time of possession. OM was 109.

You better have depth and a bend don't break D.

Having the semifinals on a Thursday night during a regular work week is stupid as frick.

Need to start the playoff earlier with on-campus games, then have the semifinal games in two big bowl games on NYE or New Year's Day like it was in the 4-team era.

You don’t think the coaches saw him regularly drill long field goals in practice every day? You have the best kicker in the nation, you use him. Kiffin did not have that philosophy and I believe it would’ve lost him the UGA game in the sugar bowl.

The Peach Bowl between Indiana and Oregon was likewise down from last year's Ohio State-Texas semifinal match-up. Fewer people watch when blue bloods aren't involved.
