His part is $6.5 million. 10 players walked out of the AD meeting. Half the team is pretty pissed though. At least get your facts in the ball park.

Just referencing what I read reported.

I’m not a journalist & I don’t worry as much about credibility on estimations given in football articles as I do when discussing idk national security or something.

247 gets the nod from me for now. And yea it’s 17M unless they keep Rich Rod

I am not as familiar to the situation as some of you are I am sure but he did walk into a tough situation and while the record was not as good the two games I saw I thought his better players was his younger players. Not sure if the are just going to plug Rich Rod in but this could backfire on Ole Miss.

Can someone who thinks this is a mistake please elucidate how it’s going to backfire on us? We’ve been in the wilderness for almost six decades and Now when we fire a joke of a coach is when it will backfire?

I want to be on record:

Dibs on Jerrion Ealy and any WR who are leaving.

Divide the rest among yourselves and Happy Holidays

Can Ealy play in State's Bowl Game if he leaves now?

If and that’s an If you have a lot of players hit the portal ( that probably won’t happen college kids always seem to calm down a little once they have a new coach) or you could end up with worse than Matt Luke, not that he was great. He did take a job when probably some others didn’t want it. I mean who do you have lined up too come in? If Rich Rod is going to take it great. Guy at Memphis that would work. When they make the hire we will know for sure.

Did you guys watch any Ole Miss games? The only thing Ole Miss did wrong was fire him. They should have let him resign or step down like we did with Stansbury. If that was offered, and he declined oh well.

Just this past eggbowl, he was going for the extra point with or without dog pissing. You have nothing to lose, on the road, rival game, you go for two.

Matt should be commended for stepping up and doing a good job. He really should be thankful for the opportunity. He went from line coach to HC and assistant coach pay to millions. He has HC on resume and everyone knows what rocky waters he sailed though. He's young, he will have more opportunities. Look at Coach O.

Ole miss is worried about a few players leaving after they only won 4 games? The fans should be ready to move on. I get what they had to do.

As a State, I just hope they frick up this next hire but I get why the did what they had to do. He was always the interim through this mess. He was lucky to be HC for 3 years. Ole miss probably did him a favor. He will be successful somewhere else. Look at their last coaches. Cutcliffe, O. MAtt's fine.

What if I told you that even if we had kept him every WR currently on the roster including piss boy was trying to enter the portal anyway? Obviously we could hire an inferior coach but somehow I think it’ll be hard to do worse than a mediocre at best offensive line coach.

The only people arguing with this are LSU and Aub fans and some randoms here and there. For what reason I have no idea.

I'd say it's harder to do worse too unless you go after Chad Morris.

LSU fans are in a national title hunt and are pissing their pants and spending all their time and energy on a team that just went 4-8 and fired their offensive line coordinator head coach.

I’m sorry you have Coach O. You know, in your heart of hearts, he is going to piss away this title shot and then revert back to being the slaw drinking buffoon that he is.

Well that changes things, if you got players wanting to bolt, unsuccessful coach, problems in the locker room stuff like that I would tend to agree with. Like I said from an outsider who saw you just play two games it would seem to me you give him two years off of sanctions to see what he could do. But again I don’t know all the back stories and only watched two games. Be glad to listen to you’re reasoning.

I get your point, but it’s like I said — look around at recent hires. With the exception of maybe 3 dudes who are not going anywhere, it’s pretty difficult to predict how these things are gonna work out sometimes.

IMO if you are in a bad spot like Ole Miss was, and you are not a blue-blood type program... you need some incremental improvement before you try to land your big fish who will magically turn everything around in less than two years...

You are not the program that’s going to pull Urban Myer out of broadcasting back into CFB.
