Florida - L
at Kentucky - W
Alabama - L
at Arkansas - W
Auburn - W
at Vanderbilt - W
South Carolina - W
at Texas A&M - L
Mississippi State - W
at LSU - W

Ole Miss is about to make a run, book it. We'll take down Ark, Auburn, Vandy, USCe, State and LSU. We'll drop the game away at aTm. ESPN is already calling for us to make the Gator Bowl , which I agree with. And after all of this, Lane Kiffin will be named the SEC Coach of the Year.

Bookmark away. I'll be bumping this thread in a few months to say I told you so.

This is actually possible. 6-4 at worst.

You better hope not.

His stay in Oxford won’t be long but that would definitely shorten it.

I think you underestimate the allure of a 19 year old XO with daddy issues.

And the QB that will be coming in a few years that would be a dynamite fit.

At worst, I think we go 4-6. Our defense is putrid and absolutely could lose us a toss up. This week being a prime example.

Kiffin cares more about a natty than adding an extra mil or two to his annual salary (which Ole Miss will do anyways if he is successful). He'll have just the chance to do that when he brings Arch Manning to Ole Miss and they rewrite the SEC record books together.

Interesting take and good timing for Ole Miss. Could Arch Manning keep Joey Freshwater at Ole Miss??

How does it feel for your HC to call all you fans out for being losers and applauding the losing team coming off the field? I went to the game and honestly, w/o The Grove party, Oxford is just another shitty small school and your stadium is like some old high school stadium. No money, no talent, no ambition and no chance.

The Mannings are like gods at Ole Miss. For anyone who hasn't been to campus, it's filled with Manning references all over the place - shite, the speed limit is 18MPH as tribute to Archie

People forget that in addition to Eli and Archie, Arch's father Cooper also attended OM. Based on what we've seen so far, Lane very well may have us competing at a high level just as Arch is making a commitment.

It really could be the perfect storm. I think there would be a certain allure to working with a Manning that would keep Kiffin at Ole Miss.

And Kiffin already chased the "shiny object" when he bolted from UT for USC. He could very well settle in nicely at Ole Miss. If he ever gets to ATL for the SECC he'll get a statue. There is something to be said for that.

Exactly. I think there is a chance that's Kiffin's ego could play to our advantage here. As in, if you go to a school with a lot of recent success, you're just one of many.

But here, even if you just get Ole Miss to Atlanta, you are THE ONE. I think this is appealing to Kiffin. The way Saban is thought of by Bama fans, Ole Miss fans would WORSHIP Kiffin and I think he would love there being zero dispute about what an insanely good coach he is to have accomplished reviving an incredibly mediocre program as of late.

Anyways, very optimistic take, we shall see.

He may leave. But it won’t be after 1 year, for a 2nd time. He wouldn’t be hirable if it didn’t work out at the job he took.

After watching the 'Bama game, I'm totally believing in Ole Miss finishing with a 7-3 record. You basically played the 2nd best team in the country even until they wore you out late in the 4th qtr with their superior depth.

Gator Bowl would be a blast.

If he builds a winner at OM, why would he leave? OM would simply open the check books and pay the man. Pretty much every SEC team can now pay coach top $ thanks to TV revenue. It's not like it was in the Tuberville days and we have an AD that would not try to pinch pennies like Boone did.

With our offense and defense being as good and bad as they both are, pretty much every game left on the schedule is a toss up. We are good enough to beat anyone but we are also bad enough to lose to anyone. Hopefully the D improves slightly. We don’t need stops every series we just need a good quarter.
