I don't know why a C-USA team can put together a serviceable D out of 1 & 2 star recruits but Ole Miss can't even tackle.

With our offense and defense being as good and bad as they both are, pretty much every game left on the schedule is a toss up. We are good enough to beat anyone but we are also bad enough to lose to anyone. Hopefully the D improves slightly. We don’t need stops every series we just need a good quarter.

I'll be rooting for y'all. I have a soft spot for Lane and City Grocery.

No one is going to mistake the Rebel's defense for the '85 Bears, but...

You've played two of the highest powered offenses in the country.

No team, outside of UGA and Clemson, is playing good defense thus far due (I think)to the lack of tackling in practice/ loss of the Spring practice, to COVID. I anticipate defenses in general, and Ole Miss in particular, will improve as the season progresses since you'll have more live game tackling.

All Ole Miss needs to do is make the occasional stop and slow teams down.

Good choice my friend. Whenever I'm able to make it back to Oxford City Grocery is an absolute must.

Because of our offense, we don't need some powerhouse D. We legit just need our defense to have an occasional stop and our offense can do the rest.

And based on what you pointed out (we've played two of the best offenses in the country), I think our D stepping up for the remainder of the schedule and having a stop here and there because of the dropoff in the quality of offenses we'll be facing isn't completely out of the question. I'd actually put it under the category of 'probable'.

Who is looking for their next coach first? Ole Miss or MSU?

I don't care if we lose out. I'm ready to have the same coach for a while.

Take away the bad snaps from center and they might still be scoring on each other.

I don’t think 7-3 happens, but if it does Lane is absolutely coach of the year

Florida - L
at Kentucky - W
Alabama - L
at Arkansas - thinking a loss here and the rest are ok. Ark will be passed at the hose job at Au and OM will come in thinking they'll just be able walk through Ark. This game is a huge trap game. Between Bama and Au, traditionally 2 of the best SECW teams.
Auburn - W
at Vanderbilt - W
South Carolina - W
at Texas A&M - L
Mississippi State - W
at LSU - W

OM's offense is great, but I feel like that defense is going to cost them a game or two they are expecting to win. Offensively they have been almost perfect to this point, so a letdown game at some point feels inevitable. And I'm not sure you can count on them to stop anybody until they actually do.

As good as Ole Miss's offense has been, there's a legit argument to be made that Kentucky blew their game against them and OM should be 0-3. And after watching Kentucky's offense be abysmal against State and knowing that they put up 41 on OM, it makes me feel even worse about this OM defense. There's more to it than just playing two great offenses in Florida and Bama.

If they figure out some things on defense then 7-3 is not out of the question. But I would expect them to be closer to 5-5 at the moment. Which would still be a really good year for Kiffin in Year 1.

Our center had multiple botched snaps last game and we had some costly offensive penalties.

Our offense has been outstanding, but definitely not perfect.

Oh yeah, 100% agree on both this being a strong possibility and one I'd be extremely pleased with.
