Lol! No SEC AD would allow that to happen. Read the room buddy.

Ole Miss is in the SEC.
For now.
It’s also true that Tulane has more SEC championships than Ole Miss.
It sounds like you’re just a whiny bitch crying about topics you don’t like

Did Sumrall demand to coach Tulane through the playoffs and make threats if he was not allowed to do sot
Yet another FAKE news narrative that came out of Oxford. Who has actually verified this??

I think Tulane knows what they are. Its a stepping stone job they know this. Willie Fritz had Tulane beating Caleb Williams in a NY6. Sumerall has them on the cusp of a playoff birth. Both left for a G5 job. A better job. And Tulane let both leave without issue. Tulane understands who they are. Highly competitive but probably won't win a natty.
I mean - all bias aside, take out the word Tulane…couldn’t this also be said about Ole Miss? Look at all the coaches prior to Kiffin.
Posted on 12/1/25 at 1:32 pm to TigerFan244
Oh this is Ole Miss for sure. They took advantage of the no rules NIL era but thats done now. Some schools are the natty winner and most schools arent. Ole Miss is in the latter.

It’s a rational decision in light of the emotions involved
quote:
OM administrators simply can’t allow for a situation where their own fans are hatefully and enthusiastically booing their lame duck coach in front of a national audience, while that lame duck coach is leading a team of players that either (a) know he won’t be coaching them anymore, or (b) he is actively recruiting to a rival.
This is all an invention. I’m quite sure Kiffin would have agreed to lay off Ole Miss players if they could have come to an agreement. The idea that he thinks he needs to raid Ole Miss for talent is kind of amusing.
quote:
Everyone is acting like Lane staying gives OM the best chance to win. That isn’t true. The distraction would be entirely too overwhelming to reasonably expect to compete at a high level. They have a better chance to win with coaches that are excited to be there.
This is a different argument and a much stronger one. I don’t agree. And the egg bowl performance shows that. But if you really believe that then of course you can’t allow him to coach.
I don’t think many believe that was what drove the decision though.

The part about OM fans booing him in active playoff games is speculative but seems likely given how this has all gone. The above quote is absurd at face value. I don’t think most people would trust Lane Kiffin with an agreement like that. That includes LSU. Nothing in his past indicates that that sort of agreement would be possible.

Why Tulane AD David Harris is letting Sumrall FINISH THE SEASON despite him taking the Florida job. Keith Carter - take note and stop making Lane Kiffin out to be the villain. No reason something similar couldn't have been worked out for Ole Miss. Reb fans - blame your AD, not Lane. He had to go an act like an insecure little brother and that's why the last 48 hrs were as contentious as they were. Did not need to be this way.
thank you for your continued interest in our program

UR an idiot!!!!
Had Kiffin chose Florida instead of your shitty school...you'd be saying the same thing as everyone else. We'd be stupid to let that fool coach us in one more game.
I get your happy to have him...congrats to you....but don't act like he's not a piece of shite for leaving his team like he did. That's not even debatable.

Tulane has 3 SEC Championships. Ole Miss has 6. This isn't difficult to understand.

I realize that Tigah fans are swamp dwelling retards but even a simpleton like you could understand 6>3

Here lies the problem. OM’s self grandiose delusion and unwillingness to rationally consider its options resulted in an emotional response by Carter. Call Lane and LSU’s bluff. Publicaly announce that you want him to coach through the last game. Force LSU to decide if it is truly willing to wait for Lane until after NIL. LSU would likely have blinked and told Lane they want him to move now. This probably pushes Lane to stay at OM.
Do you look in the mirror each morning and talk yourself up? Seems like that is what you are doing here.
Lane as the victim is the most laughable take I have seen. You are apparently buying what Jimmy Sexton is selling.
You have framed this as LSU vs Ole Miss and completely absolve Kiffin. Kiffin is the one responsible for all of this. He wanted to have his cake and eat it too. He created the Ole Miss team in his image, he put feelers out for another job, he got his team to the playoffs, and he chose to leave. None of this happens without him.
LSU and Ole Miss were pushing to get to a decision because early signing day is this week. Do you honestly think LSU was like, “hey - do whatever you like. We aren’t worried about the signing day or transfer portal.” They were forcing him to make a decision too.
Meanwhile, Lane thought he could just drag this on and do as he pleased. You can’t go to a rival school without consequences especially when it just gives Lane time to recruit the players he is leaving. All the fans are like just let him coach. All the business people are like you should have separated ways sooner (if you could)
The issue isn’t whether he chose to better his personal situation or not. The issue is he sold a bunch of kids on his vision and then bailed on them before the season ended. That is a fundamental leadership problem, and a Tiger doesn’t change its stripes. The good news is there aren’t many suitors for him at this point, but the list isn’t zero either.
How would you feel if he took your entire team to Alabama? While doubtful, it could happen under the current environment.
Lane has screwed people over everywhere he has been, so I guess at this point, it going to take Lane doing this to LSU for many LSU fans to understand this (and I’m not wishing this on you). I’ve already seen several LSU fans express discomfort with how things are going down. And honestly, it feels like I felt when Jimbo was hired. I was not impressed, but I also didn’t make that call.

That….isnt true at all.
We already know LSU fans can’t read worth a shite but now they have proven to not be able to count.

That’s…a petty answer. You would turn down $90 million? Are you going to honestly tell me you would?
