Rich Brooks (who was old when we hired him).

I remember Rich Brooks. He coached the Rams when they moved to St. Louis in '95.

Also lost Iowa’s Coach Fry within the past year or two. Believe Bob Stoops and Kirk Ferentz were on his staff.

Yep - he was the one I couldn't put my finger on.

Bill Synder, Kirk Ferentz, Dan McCarney, Barry Alvarez, Bob Stoops and Mike Stoops were all assistants on the same teams in the mid 1980s.

Stallings is my favorite of all those. He is cut from a different cloth than the rest.

Lots of respect for him. Hope he is around with for a while longer.

Oldest national championship won by a coach still alive is Barry Switzer, 1974-75.
