So you don't think a player should tell the coaches that they are leaving the team. Just slink out of town and let the coaches figure it out later?

No. Why are OU fans so ignorant? The transfer portal process requires the student to notify the school they intend to transfer. The school then has two days to enter them into the portal database.

Nobody cares he changed colleges. His dad brokered a deal behind everybody's back and tried to sneak his son out of town without telling anybody, including his coaches or teammates. He was caught loading his stuff in his car by an equipment manager driving by at the time and when he was confronted he just told everybody to "talk to my dad". His dad wouldn't answer his phone. He's a nutless sack of shite and so is his coward of a father. frick him and his dad both.

Wow. Way to show the world what type of character YOU have. Pathetic. His dad didn’t owe you or any other sooner fan an explanation.

I don’t condone the behavior, whether it’s OU fans or someone else doing it. It’s childish. It’s embarrassing. I don’t care where a player goes or how much one is given, whether to stay or go elsewhere. There’s no loyalty for any program in the NIL era. It’s time to move on and just deal with whatever happens next.

Why don’t you worry about your own program? Plenty of material in your neck of the woods to be focused on!

Tell me, with NIL and fans now paying players via that avenue you still contend they have no stake?

I don’t condone any harrasing a player or their parent, no need for it. Need proof of those who did too, not just a blanket blame a fanbase.

In this situation he was asking for more money and OU said yes. He went behind the scenes (not in portal yet) and told Mizzou to beat it, they did. They told him to go back to OU and throw out a huge number they won’t meet and he did. OU said yes we’ll pay that.
That threw him off and he wasn’t prepared for it.

So he had already assumed it would be no and never thought OU would agree. Then the OU main coaches were out on recruiting trips and during that time assistants were running practice. And Green came in and tried to slink out with nobody noticing. He was supposed to be at practice. Never told coaches he would miss it. Never told a soul not even teaamates. Just slid out but got caught and when asked he said contact his dad. Well his dad deleted his contacts, so OU had no idea what was going on. OU even tried to contact his HS coach to no avail. Green went dead silent on all fronts.

You can like him all you want he’s on your team, thats what fans do. But in time this will catch up. Low character moves like that never end well. He will ask Mizzou for more money at some point. And one day if he doesn’t show up and your coaches are doing practice for a game - well just remember he owes you nothing. Same goes for Newarneri too, a year from now he could just stop all contact with your team and leave town and Mizzou fans are ok with that. If they say yes they are lying to try and win an internet argument.

Green got caught when OU agreed to his ask. You realize how many people involved with NIL have to be contacted to agree to stuff like this. Green gave a middle finger to the bigger money people even when they agreed to his ask.

This is not some small deal and end of bench player. He was a starter and good too. He was catered too his whole time, standard for a top notch player at all schools. There is a massive list of people involved to work with a player and NIL. And he just vanished, after they agreed. I do not wish him luck, hope he fails.

I would never do what some did on social or other media. But he’s a money only player and as he gets closer to NFL timeline, his effort might slip as he will protect himself from any sniff of a play where he might get hurt. Just know he is in it solely for the money. And he does not honor even his own request when it was agreed upon.

Interesting. So why do you think Green mentioned honesty and being being lied to when asked, why Mizzou?

LOL, what else would you expect him to say. “I don’t really like Mizzou but the money was too good to pass up” lol

Its all honeymoon talk, all players do that.

You’re really the one reaching here creating a thread about a few bad apples.

I could give two sh*ts less if a lineman chooses to transfer. It’s just a game and life goes on.

Missouri fans are really showing their insecurity.

You talked about honesty, this was 100% a money grab. A week prior:

quote:

Green had taken to social media Dec. 6 to welcome the first new member of the Sooners' O-line retool, former Michigan State offensive tackle Spencer Brown

He was 100% into OU and changed his mind on a dime all for money. If Green was being honest a week prior the only thing that changed was $$$. He isn’t doing it for loyalty thats for sure. He has always been OU his whole life. But his dad likely got so greedy and now his son is the one who has to perform. Those who paid for his services will expect him to di great. And as an adult he could have told his dad no, so its still on Cayden.

The word around here is there were promises made on NIL when he signed there originally that weren't fulfilled.

If true his statement and actions thereafter make perfect sense.

Now who should I believe? Him or a fan of a fan base that tries to destroy a man's business?

He was pumping OU since he arrived and was active on social media saying nothing but great things. This was even up to a mere 4 days prior to him leaving. If he was disgruntled he would not have been doing that he would have just said nothing. Even his teamates were shocked and nothing was said to them about problems and they would know too. He welcomed a portal transfer just days prior.

No, your story isn’t right this was 100% pure money grab and then when OU said yes to his even higher offer he left without a word to anyone. At least he could man up and call coach and be honest. Or at least tell him I’m leaving and don’t want to talk about it. Nope, he pussied out.

Its his right to leave no one questions that. How he lied when OU NIL said yes and he still just left without a trace tells me his character. The lie is him telling them a $ number to stay and when they said yes he already knew he was not staying before he asked.

But up until mere days prior he was all in on OU so thats not someone with a problem thats pure money driven and caught in a bind. He’s yours now and he’ll play great for you too. But he has 2 years before he can go pro so now at what point does he ask for more money or start taking plays off that last year before pro to protect his nfl draft stock ($$$). His desire for more money isn’t over, its just starting.

Oklahoma fans acting like this over one player transferring shows that they are going to have a very rude and very ugly awakening when they actually are members of the SEC. They seem to think this was some type of cutthroat betrayal. This is just SEC football. shite, this is Vanderbilt level. Gonna be a rough ride for them.

OU fans are the ones trying to destroy a man’s livelihood.

Good luck next year. And I don’t mean that. But it is too close to Christmas to tell someone “frick you”.

The OU fan story is all Parker Thune. Made up BS to trash a kid who wanted out of OU and hide that OU couldn’t make an NIL offer as strong as Mizzou’s. It also couldn’t possibly have anything to do with two of his high school teammates being at Mizzou nd getting in his ear to transfer.

I already stated the transfer portal requirements. It requires the student notifying the school of an intent to transfer.
