Not really, it was a last second 50+ yard hail mary. Pretty much like TN did to UGA last year.

Mayfield is pretty damn similar to JFF.

Now when an OU fan starts down the tired story of: “yeah well my Aunt and Uncle went to the game in NOLA vs LSU...” I usually abruptly stop them and say something like “yeah I bet she got gang raped while lit on fire and he was beaten within an inch of his life with piss-filled beer bottles by LSU fans. Tell me something I haven’t heard.”

They were awful as guests. Arrogant, entitled, rude, take themselves way too seriously. And, perhaps worst of all, they don't know how to have a good time. OU and LSU had two very different cultures.

line of scrimmage as always... I like both teams and have been high on GA all year.

OU OL is very solid/senior leadership is where I tilt the scales.

Unknown may be Lincoln Riley.. cool as a cucumber so far, but lets see how he does in crunch time on the big stage. Smart is a HC rookie as well, but I think he's a bit more battle tested on this level.

I like the set up for the semi's.. gonna be good watching.

I feel like I'm stating the obvious here, but Georgia has the best running back duo in the country in Chubb and Michel. Can OU stop UGA's running game? They were #40 nationally against the run this year. Gave up 5 ypc or more in three games (Kansas State, Oklahoma State, West Virginia). Gave up nearly 5 ypc in two other games (Ohio State, first TCU game).

NB4 Bama -- calm down folks. Alabama is deep at RB but UGA's guys are the best, especially when Chubb is healthy.

Why?

OK may completely dominate UGA. Doesn't make the comments less stupid.

Got 25 minutes to kill? Here is the OK/Baylor game condensed.

Spolier Alert.....The 2nd worst team in the Big 12 scores 41 vs OU.

Aggies usually don't play that well at home (which, according to my sources was a real sticking point with Sumlin).

For me this was THE sticking point. 8 win average isn't horrible. The home record was way worse than horrible.

Also, your team just isn't that good?? You only beat us because we have no quarterback and were missing our top three receivers and our top two running backs.

Huh. I thought this was common knowledge, but apparently not. A&M won that game because SafetySam, father of SafetySam, my exceptionally good lookin' wife and I were there. ONLY reason. We enjoyed the visit, by the way. Especially the Hare Krishnas.

Your win over auburn the second time around wasn't even impressive because their best player, and the best player in the SEC clearly wasn't healthy. They've played tough defenses, you've played one decent offense and they crushed you.

It's almost like you didn't watch either game. The au rb wasn't the key factor in either game.

Well this is laughable, but sure... let's play...

Adjusted defensive efficiency... is adjusted for both starting field position and opponent offense faced... thus removing a good portion of the bias that you seem to want to avoid. The following is borrowed from another poster who did the math... I believe some updates to Fremau's numbers might have some of the rankings off by 1-2 places (I see Oklahoma at 61 instead of 59 for example), but generally speaking it's close enough for message board work:

quote:

Oklahoma's adjusted defensive efficiency ranks them at 59th in the country. The three teams closest to that ranking which Georgia played this season are Florida at 45th, Georgia Tech at 49th, and Tennessee at 70th. Against those three teams, Georgia averaged 40.33 points per game, 414 total yards per game, 277.67 yards rushing per game, 0.67 turnovers per game, and allowed their opponent an average of 11.67 drives per game.

Georgia's adjusted defensive efficiency ranks them at 2nd in the country. The three teams closest to the ranking which Oklahoma played this season are Texas at 6th, Ohio State at 11th, and TCU at 14th. Against those three teams, Oklahoma averaged 34.75 points per game, 500.5 total yards per game, 174 yards rushing per game, 0.75 turnovers per game, and ran an average of 11.75 drives per game.

If the offensive averages for both teams against comparable defenses hold, Georgia wins this game. That means that the real question in this game is whether the weakest unit on the field, Oklahoma's defense, plays significantly better than expected. OU hasn't played a ball-control offense like Georgia. They also haven't played a team with a true, consistent, power-rushing attack like Georgia.

So, the real question in this game is not "Can Georgia slow down OU's offense?" but, rather, "Can OU slow down Georgia's offense?"

OU's defense played great against Ohio State but Ohio State has been more than a little bit up and down this season on offense. They'll need a similar effort and on-field result to that Ohio State game if they're going to beat Georgia.

There is your objective look at the opponents... Do I think that predicts a definite UGA win? Of course not... Baker is a hell of an athlete and they've got a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball. If we can limit scores to FGs more often than TDs for them and force a few three and outs, I like our chances to methodically drive it against their defense.

The switch has been flipped. Expect to see OU get a steady dose of "composure and physicality" poured out on them.

just wait till you meet them in person. Oklahoma is the ONLY team that has played LSU where I didn't like their fans AT ALL. we've played lots of schools with bad fan reps; west Virginia, notre dame, ohio state, Miami and others and honestly I thought they all had damn good fans. when we played them for the natty in new Orleans it's like they did not know how to have fun and were real shitty to talk to.

Honestly, it's been my experience that there is generally about 20% of every fanbase that is tolerable so it's not a surprise that you happen to have a bad experience. Ive only met maybe a few LSU fans but so far they have been pretty cool.

Your fans were belligerent drunks who can't handle their alcohol and walked around the street after the game throwing sucker punches at OU fans from behind even though you won. I'm not surprised they didn't like you. Go sell crazy somewhere else pops.....
