Oklahoma has oil, farmland, hardworking people, and they love football. They were in the confederacy like Texas, what’s the problem? They’re southern, even if it’s with a SW flair.

Oklahoma didn't become a state until 1907.

Some of the tribes supported the Confederacy.

Well, Norman is part of the OKC Designated Market Area (DMA) for TV.

It ranks 44th in the country and has 755,340 TV Households. Are there any SEC DMA markets bigger.

Here’s the listing:

DMA Markets

Austin is 38th at 912,400.

Look through the listing and tell me which DMA markets are bigger in SEC.

Corn as high as an elephant's eye.

The highest point in Oklahoma is higher than any other SEC state not named Tennessee. Black Mesa elevation 4973.

Oklahoma has beaucoup reservations for various tribes.

HUh? Myrtle Beach? Gatlinburg ? Florida East Coast? Florida West Coast? Lower Alabama? Gulf Shores? New Orleans?Texas Gulf Coast?

Geez, we can't keep the Buckeyes off our lakes. They flood them with the Ohio Navy not to mention Michiganders.

Land Between the Lakes in KY & TN gets a lot of midwesterners in there.

Nashville? St. Louis, Louisville at Derby Time, we get quite a few though here on the way to Florida to see horse farms, then there are Mammoth Cave, Cumberland Gap.

Now in Kansas the big site is the grain elevators you can see from 20 miles away. Or beautiful Mt. Sunflower.

You’re a racist piece of shite who has not traveled much.

Oklahoma is a good state with a lot of cool outdoors things to do. OKC is one of the best cities of its size on the rise in the USA. Don’t get me started on how good the the political climate is there.

other SEC fans who do road trips to Norman and spend the weekend in the OKC area will enjoy their trips. It’s not Athens, BR, Knoxville or Austin but it’ll be comparable to the rest of the SEC road trips.

DMA smack in a state with two actual cities is pretty stupid.

First, because it's 2022 and not even local TV stations give a shite about DMAs.

Second, because most SEC cities are flanked by multiple larger DMAs. Orlando and Tampa and Jacksonville for UF. Athens is 18 miles from the NE edge of the Atlanta DMA.

Finally, because you're bragging about being in the 44th largest one

Note: Was answering another posters attempt at saying OU has no TV market. This DMA is Neilson and used to set ad rates so its pretty standard stuff.

Note 2: So you were 18 men away from getting laid lol you are that close. But you are not in that DMA correct? Espin and SEC knew they were bringing in huge TV markets in addition to 2 bluebloods.

Note 3: I can’t wait to be part of SEC and the game experiences are going to be so awesome.

Thread is dumb. The Sooners are a great addition to the SEC.

I really dont think we should expand beyond this unless the entire college landscape changes and just goes all in on being semi-pro.

The only states we dont have geographically that fit are Virginia and North Carolina, and Id argue West Virginia.

This needs to pretty well be it.

Nobody is skeeerred of OU. Especially UGA. They will just be another cupcake on our schedule. You would think after UGA ripped out their hearts a few years back they would be a little more respectful.

I grew up in Bradley County near a place called Red Clay, where the Cherokee had to come from Georgia in order to have a legal formal meeting. That's where the Trail of Tears began.

It’s hard when your claim to fame is the whole state was generated from Dirt Burglars. Just saying.
