The grind is harder and getting harder by the day …. Every sec team is feeling it the days of undefeated or 1 loss sec champs are over …. It would take a NC worthy team to accomplish going thru this league with one loss , undefeated is almost impossible with the more difficult schedules …. Even though OU was given the hardest sec schedule playing the top 5 of 6 sec teams most on road, we still would have lost 5-6 games in the big 12 . OU has never had an offense this bad in its history … we haven’t had an offense outside of top 30 in probably 10 years I would guess … maybe one don’t feel like looking it up . My point is this with the defense we have it would just take an average offense for us to be decent …. Probably won’t happen this season but hopefully by seasons end we get all our receivers back and start using those elite OL we recruited . Te is a major issue for OU right now and it has been for a while , that’s something OU can’t turn a blind eye too. We have plenty of elite wrs ,that’s not Venables fault they are all young and the older guys are hurt. But to keep playing the shitty TEs we have who can’t block is his fault

The days of having 10-20x more talent than everyone but Tejas are over.
They will be poached of best players by the big dogs, they are a Middling sec school. Might as well get used to it, days of being a top dog are over.
Zero HS recruits from state of Oklahoma in top300 kids. No more isu, taco techs, baylors, kansas, kansas st,etc Nubs 2.25

Your wasting your energy, most OU fans don’t care like you do.
Yes the SEC is a grind. However, we’re just enjoying the matchups.
The grind makes you appreciate each week that much more.
This season has had some of the best matchups ever across the college football, there’s an exciting game every week.
There are some Big 12 opponents I’ll miss (OSU, K-State).
But watching OU go against the Tennessee’s, South Carolina’s, etc is more entertaining than Iowa State, Kansas, etc.

We’d suck in the b12 this year too. Barely scraped by Houston earlier and they’re awful. The SEC certainly magnifies our shortcomings more so than the b12. This is my first year to really watch the SEC and the size and athleticism is off the charts.

No this is not normal. It's a classic symptom of Tsip derangement syndrome. Check your posting history to see if you have been posting in many Texas A&M threads, it's highly contagious and those threads are rife with the disease.

What do you mean by don't care? I assumed Oklahoma has a loyal fan base.

The SEC is all about good football and trying to get to win 6 anything after win 6 is a bonus and a better bowl.
I understand OU is banged up on offense this year.
Don’t let these poster here get under your skin because they all love jumping on a wounded dog.
As a Vols fan I know the feeling all to well but Heupel is slowly getting us back to those big wins.
But you can never look past teams like Vandy or State I think both those teams are going to give us a fight and even Kentucky might get lucky lol

Their defense may be good enough to beat a few Big12 teams, but with no offense they'd struggle to get bowl eligible there too.
From what I've seen so far, the SEC has more talented players on average, that was always known.
Having said that there are Big12 teams with coaches who empty their playbooks and get their players worked into a frenzy that results in them giving a NCG/Superbowl type effort when playing OU or Texas. It's no secret that a Big12 coach on the hot seat can cool it off as long as they get a victory over one or both, and sometimes an extension instead of a pink slip.
Imagine a mid to late season game at some Midwestern wasteland stadium that holds 45-50k, your team is a little banged up and you just want to do your thing, collect the W and go home..then on the other side of the ball you have a bunch of 3* players with a chip on their shoulder because they didn't get an offer from one of the two big schools, and they want to prove to NFL scouts they have what it takes to go up against 4-5* players and win.
I can only speak for myself and most Texas fans but I think the gooners will agree, we'd rather see our teams play in huge packed stadiums with passionate fans even if means going up against more talented players than middling Big 12 teams. In those scenarios it's much easier for our players to get hyped and play up to the competition. Win or lose, it's still a win vs what we once had.

I haven’t yet met an OU fan with buyer’s remorse about the move. They’d rather get waxed by every SEC team they play in year 1 than suffer through another season in a dump of a conference with 1 real game on the schedule each year and 1 other game they feel obliged to pretend they care about for the sake of little brother’s pride at Thanksgiving dinner.
And the league was kind enough to put Auburn on their schedules so they didn’t even get waxed by every team.

Oklahoma fans don’t want to admit the SEC grind is real. They try coping by saying their record would be the same if they were still in the Big 12.
The realization hits them that Oklahoma isn’t in this for just a year or two, but from now on. They realize the SEC will eat them alive and they can kiss those yearly 10-12 win seasons goodbye.

You're awfully smug for a fan of a team who got their arse beat by one of the Big 12's shittier teams.

It's a lot harder. How many SEC teams are undefeated?

You’d know that, except you’re also not part of the conference either.

One big thing missing from Oklahoma that they usually always have in their best seasons is a good to great runner. Oklahoma has a history of tough running and that is missing for them this season.

Their dominant offenses in the past didn't do too much against high level SEC opposition whenever they crossed paths.
Yep. They usually did just enough to win.

there is absolutely no doubt it's harder, but we knew that coming in. Mind you, the offense being a dumpster fire and the injuries haven't helped at all, we always knew this would be much tougher. The Big 12 is built on speed and finesse on the edges. What has made the SEC so dominant is that they are built from the line of scrimmage back. Any team can win on any Saturday and that makes for great football, but it also means you aren't skating through to a playoff spot. If you ask, do you wish OU wouldn't stayed in the Big 12? Absolutely not! This is where the best football is played, the best stadiums, the best traditions, it's where the mark is set. I truly believe OU will benefit from this season and the way it's unfolded. You need to know what your deficiencies are so they can be corrected. It may take some time, but OU will adjust. I would much rather face this scheduled now instead of later to be able to be in the mix. I wouldn't change a thing and am so happy OU is in the SEC.
