Is Oklahoma welcome or not?

please give your reasons either way...

I would love to have them, however, we really need to remove someone, and that is not gonna happen.

OU ain’t coming without lil bro Okie Lite

And, I’m not even sure if the SEC wants OU. They add nothing in terms of TV ratings. Maybe the SEC would be interested in a stronger foothold in North Texas, but we already have A&M.

Really expanding the geographic term "southeastern" aren't we? It was bad enough A&M and Mizzou slide in that category. Should we just rename the conference??

Colorado is pretty far from the Pacific.
Pitt isn't close to the Atlantic.

Weird shite happens.

You say that as if Mississippi, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Arkansas are in the southeast.

The few remaining portmanteau worded conferences are about to become obsolete.
I’m not offering a commentary on whether that’s good or bad, just that it is what it is.

As for the Sooners, it’s tough for me to be objective.
But I’d take them any day over UTex.
My preference, however, is Virginia Tech.

There will be no more realignment. There will be a P5 only league though.

Oklahoma wouldn’t be my first choice, but I would begrudgingly accept them. They’re a better worthy fit than Mizzou. Granted, I don’t like A&M, Mizzou, or Arkansas being in this league.

I really don’t want OK St, but I would imagine they’re a package deal.

If I had my pic of teams, from ideal to less so, I would rank preference of adding to the SEC as follows:
1. Florida St
2. Clemson
3. Texas
4. Virginia Tech
5. North Carolina
6. NC St
7. Oklahoma
8. Georgia Tech
9. West Virginia
10. Virginia
11. Tulane
12. Miami
13. Duke
14. TCU
15. Louisville
16. Memphis
17. Ok St
18. Baylor
19. Louisiana
20. Wake Forest

The boundaries of the southeast are usually defined with Arkansas, Kentucky, and Virginia as the northern most states and Louisiana and Arkansas as the westernmost states.

We'd have to bring OK State along with OU if that ever happened. Don't think we need 16 teams.

He's right. We would need teams more from the East. We really don't need anymore Missouri's or Arkansas'.

Totally agree.

If the SEC ever expands it should be with Va Tech and NC State. The two programs and fan bases fit the SEC mindset far better than the Okies or anyone else.

We've already got the Texas market. If we get the North Carolina and Virginia markets we could own the world.

we all would have loved to have Clempson, and Florida State.

But the B12 is dying... and something is gonna happen.. if they don't move, they die.. and they know it...

Ultimately this will be the case. Just a matter of time. The core of the B10, SEC & PAC12 will stay together, but a lot of regional pairing will shifts some big names around.

I do think we'll have a phase or two of traditional realignment before a breakdown and total reshuffle from the ncaa takes place. Twenty year window would be a fair guess.
