It's about time someone with some common sense spoke up about this. I'm in total agreement with what he said.

Germany is also against it.

It's hard for me to listen to someone who gets paid from college football trying to argue that people shouldn't get paid from college football.

So you agree with the Athletic Director of a major institution on his grounds that they shouldn’t change anything because it makes his job harder?

If the schools in the state of Sodomafornia go with this, just shun them and let them play with themselves. They matter 0 in college athletics anyway, and disqualify them if they plan an ineligible player

Top 10 College AD Salaries in 2018
1. Jack Swarbrick, Notre Dame — $3.05 million
2. Jim Phillips, Northwestern — $1.57 million
3. Barry Alvarez, Wisconsin — $1.55 million
4. Kevin White, Duke — $1.451 million
5. Kirby Hocutt, Texas Tech — $1.45 million
6. Chris Del Conte, Texas — $1.435 million
7. Gene Smith, Ohio State — $1.42 million
8. Greg Byrne, Alabama — $1.225 million
9. Joe Castiglione, Oklahoma — $1.149 million
10. Ron Wellman, Wake Forest — $1.106 million
That's $15 million for just 10 guys and there's 120 more AD's.
Somehow I think his comments would be more valid if he and his fellow ADs just got an average American's salary and he did it all for the love of the game to preserve the idea of "amateur" college athletics.

Didn't realize Yurachek made that much. I like what he's done so far (especially hiring Musselman for basketball, he didn't really hire Morris) but that seems steep for a guy who was at Houston.

I think that's the first time I've ever heard him say something that wasn't stupid.

It's a trap.
Today all of the money that is payed to players is under the table and there are no taxes.
California wants this Fair Pay to Play act so they can tax the money.
Watch out players. You are about to take a pay cut if this succeeds.

This isn't the "good old days'. He's howling at the moon. Big TV contracts, individual conference networks, outrageous coaching salaries and billions of dollars in revenues have changed the landscape of "amateur" college athletics.
Use whatever cliche you want to use but the cat is out of the bag on this topic.
The NCAA, College Presidents and ADs should have seen the hand writing on the wall and been proactive to get ahead of the curve.
