Why the hell does LSU always choose to play the first game of regional?

It gives them time to then scout the other teams in person. Also, it means if you lose that game, you don't have as quick of a turnaround in playing the next game, whereas if you lose the night game, you then play the early game the next day.
It seemed to work for Skip Bertman, but it does hose fans that are driving.
Also, thoughts and prayers for the Vandy folks on the tragic death of one of their pitchers.

Given the size of the local fan base for LSU, having a crowd shouldn't be a problem. But I get your point. Probably a bigger issue for State, but I would guess they will still have a strong turnout.

Their a 4 seed for a reason just like State is a 1 seed. I think their rip is 53 and I'm not sure if they have faced an offense as strong as State's. Only Common opponents are Ole Miss which Ole Miss won 2 games. I don't believe common opponents is a big deal. My point is you are who you are.

Yeah, but it's baseball. Especially when you're playing a team with a really good starting pitcher. Doesn't mean they'll win, but they have a good shot at it in a one-game scenario.

2014:
CoC over - won the regional.
Jackson St over Louisiana - ULala had to beat State 2x to win regional.
Georgia Southern over FSU - Bama eliminated FSU & Kennesaw State went on to win the regional.
2013:
Uconn over VT - Allowed OU to win the regional
Stoney Brook over Miami - SB went on to win the regional and beat LSU in the super.
Oral Bob over BU - BU had to run off 4 in a row to win the regional
Over that last 3 years they win 15% of the time.
2015:
