So, uh, do you think we'll have enough money now to buy us a pretty good football team?

Umm... how to say this?

No.

Sorry, but it had to be said.

Since when did Comcast ever carry that POS? I know that has to make the sips seethe with rage that they're pretty much shut out of the greater Houston area.

I got Uverse, ma man, but I think they put it out as a "demo" channel for the first year or something, I know I didn't ask for it!

well maybe if one of the Bama, Tenn, or Miss schools has a going out of business sale at one of their schools..

for the basketball school, the rich will get richer in football, but maybe they can woop some B1G/ACC/PAC azz on the gridiron soon!

So this is essentially the lowest package that includes sports.

The two cheaper levels only have ESPN basic and a few other randoms.

The network will be part of the Choice tier in SEC states, according to DirecTV. It is undecided on what tier the network will be available for states outside the SEC footprint.

For those who don't know (like myself), here's an explanation of what "Choice" tier means:

quote:

Which one is the choice tier? Is that the normal one?

Per TMC:
quote:

pretty much. They have like 72 different tiers. It's the cheapest one that has ESPNU, ESPNews, FSSW, FS1, NFLN, MLBtv, etc.

There is one level below it where you can get ESPN and ESPN2 and basically no other sports programming. And it's the next tier up for stuff like NBAtv, NBCSN, FS2. So it's pretty much basic.

OK, I'm still confused. Just got off the phone with Direct TV. I a former customer. I cancelled when I moved to a new home in May and didn't want want to get stuck in a new 2 year contract, so I went to FIOS on a month to month contract.

The third person I spoke to at Direct TV (he said he was an LSU fan)said he could not quote a price but wanted to sign me up for a new two year contact.

I was born at night but not last night. I told him I would call him back.

If they can't give me a price and GUARANTEE that I will get SECN, tomorrow, I'm going to Time Warner. 200 channels, 4 TV's, SECN, Whole Home DVR and High speed internet a few pennies less than $133.
Month to month contract.

It's funny to wander the interwebs and see the butthurt amongst rival fans regarding the SECN:
