Pitching needs to get right and limit freebies. We will need a “supporting player(s)” like Brown or Fry or ________ to get hot and stay hot when we need it.

I have a friend who has worked the The Masters for 14 years and gets to play in May. He’s an 18 hdcp and he has broken 100 from members tees. PROBABLY had gimmies and drops, but I do not know. A screen shot of a 2023 scorecard shows the member yardage at 6250. Playable yardage, but when you add in the greens and the elevations … probably a very tough course for weekend warriors.

Yes, I understand that the $600 will not get me a new driver and fitting. That money will go towards it. May end up with the Mizuno 230 MAX for $300, mostly because I think I can use the same upgraded shaft from my current Mizuno.
I have 4 putters. OLD Anser blade, Odyssey 2-ball (OG), Bettinardi INOVIA 6, TaylorMade Spyder GT Rollback.

My birthday today, thank you. Was given a gift certificate from my kiddos and now I have $600 in my “golf envelope.”
Not sure what to get. Always wanting new driver, but don’t really need it. PING 440 MAX looks awesome.
What golf stuff are you guys spending the $600 on?

LPGA pro am with Pat Hurst and the head pro at Orange Tree. Loved talking to Pat’s caddy. VERY insightful.
re: PayntrX golf shoes?

How was the sizing compared to your other shoes? I’ve heard the sizing is hit or miss. Otherwise, great reviews on their entire line.
re: How far do you hit your PW and what's your handicap

120-125ish 10-12 hdcp

TAC, playing Horshoe Bay in early April. I think it is about an hour north west.
What can I expect? PIG golf trip. Looking forward to it.
I’ve been to almost every major city in Texas except Austin.

Does the baseball team have a legit closer?

Fortunately, we really haven’t needed one yet. I know Guidry played the role some last year, but personally, I do not have faith in him. I kinda like the idea of Eyanson moving there with his velocity and that breaking ball, but he struggles to get going.

They should have just cut the grass and re opened them.
I have not been to City Park area since before Katrina. Do they still have the space? Could one of them actually be restored? No idea if it could be done or not. If the West could be restored / enhanced, that would be awesome. I’m sure it's a financial decision.

Yes, but I didn’t mind. Bring snacks and a drink.
Ive never seen the new south course. Wish they could bring back one of the two oldies.

LOVED them. The West course was great. Broke 80 for the first time at the East course. Never played the North course.

I’ve been playing for almost 50 years, no aces. First year I learned, I dropped one down the flag stick, rattled at the bottom and sat on the lip.
I do have a hole-in-par. First one in the water the next, slam dunk par.
GOLF. Gotta love it.

Just hoping to gain some distance off the tee
… and you may! I find the biggest advantage to getting fit is not distance, but reigning in the dispersion numbers. Probably not a realistic expectation, but the distances on new clubs was a little disappointing. Was hoping for extra 5-10 yards, but only slight gains in distance. My dispersion numbers improved a bunch, especially with driver.
Your results may vary! :D
