Conference championship game winners go to the CFP if they have 0 or 1 loss. I don't think a single 0-1 loss conference champion has not gone to the CFP since it started with the 2014 season.

2+ loss conference championship game winners get passed over by very good 1 loss teams

I don't have a problem with this. It's much more likely to give you the best 4 teams than putting a 2 or 3 loss team that gets into a conference championship game by winning a weak division into the CFP.

If Georgia had 2 regular season losses but won the SECCG they wouldn't be in the CFP

LSU should worry more about the inbred shrimp boat captain they put in charge of their program.
He's 12-4 in the SEC since taking over in 2016, while trying to clean up the Miles Mess.

Seriously, all you SEC Rant VGT's really need to come up with a new narrative. The "Inbred Shrimp Boat Captain" thing is old, worn out and not currently valid.......

They did this last year bro. Where was all of the outrage then?

I dont know about anybody else but I said it last year too. This CFP committee has turned the playoffs into a three game beauty contest. No such thing as having to play your way in.

I dont see this playoff system surviving much longer.

the big difference was Ohio State lost to the conference champion and still went in. Penn State got screwed. In Alabama's case, the conference champion got in, and no one got screwed

Please stop.

Do you really think that OSU is top 4? What about USC?

Burry your Bama hatred and think about this for a minute. Bama's only loss was to Auburn, OSU has 2 bad losses and most recently by 4 touchdowns to Iowa.

If OSU had beaten Iowa they would have been in or if Penn St had won the B1G they would have been in with 2 last minute losses.

Bama got in because no one else stepped up this season, not because of some conspiracy.

What’s stopping teams from tanking like Bama did vs auburn to avoid playing another game that can possibly take you out the playoffs

I made the same case regarding an 8-team playoff. Alabama could have gone in the tank for the Auburn game, rested their injured and still made the playoffs.
With a 4-team playoff, that ain't gonna happen...too dangerous.

Yes, when the champions has 2 losses, one to an unranked team

If Bama had lost by 31 to Auburn they would not have been considered.

That’s crazy . Why would Bama tank against Auburn just to miss the SEC championship game ?

They already allowed for this after Ohio State.

And honestly, does anyone look at Ohio State and see a better football team than Alabama?

You claim that Bama is a “very good” 1 loss team. But how do you really know that? They played a shitshow schedule and their best win of the season was a win against LSU! Let this sink in for a minute.... Bama lost to the team that lost to the LSU team that lost to Troy. And they just barely squeaked away with a win at Miss St. Id love to know how that constitutes a better resume than tOSU. You and I both KNOW that it doesnt. Its one thing for Bama to not win the conference but they didnt even win their frickin division.
