I mean if there is another team the SEC were to expand to, I'd want it to be Notre Dame since it's about the only other team out there that would increase the value. Plus the Big Ten wants them so it would be a win win.

I’ll go one step further.
Add ND, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Nebraska, Michigan State, Miami, Florida State.
Sorry Domer, ND to the SEC is not happening. Enjoy your mediocrity. Why did Kelly leave? I’m sure he saw bright future playing the likes of Wake Forrest, NCST, Syracuse, worn out Miami, etc.The interest level from your Domer fans must be sky high when Duke comes to South Bend
But don’t fret. I believe we have a series with you in 6 years or so. That’s if your still even playing football

Obviously ND is a prize for any conference but culturally and geographically they are a better fit in the B10.
Not sure why folks keep saying this
Notre Dame is a PRIVATE Catholic school with national appeal that just happens to sit in Indiana in the heart of B1G country
However, in the B1G they would be consumed in "meh" of STATE schools
Notre Dame sports profile fits the ACC
Baseball // (M) Basketball // (W) Basketball // (C) Cross country // (C) Golf
Football // (C) Lacrosse // (W) Rowing // (M) Ice hockey. // (C) Soccer
Softball // (C) Swimming and diving // (C) Tennis // (C) T&F // (W) Volleyball
ACC is their primary conference
IND and ACC for football
B1G for Ice Hockey
Boston College is Private and Catholic in the ACC
Syracuse, Wake Forrest, Duke, and Miami are all PRIVATE in the ACC
Louisville is a few hours drive and in the ACC
Pittsburgh is #4 on Notre Dames most played games list
Georgia Tech is #9 on Notre Dames most played games list
Boston College is #12 on Notre Dames most played games list
Miami (FL) is #13 on Notre Dames most played games list
UNC is #16 on Notre Dames most played games list
Notre Dame has played LSU 12 times (the most played current SEC school)
Illinois / Ohio State / Minnesota Rutgers / Maryland are below LSU all time

ND is irrelevant other than name.
They have several things going for them
#1 They are the only truly national brand
#2 ND CFB and Dook MCBB get most of their ratings from folks wanting to watch a loss, not a win
#3 They have broad sports content (not limited to a single sport)
#4 They can recruit at the top levels in most all sports
#5 They have a global presence
#6 Lots and lots of Catholics all over the world

You make some excellent points about the SEC not needing Notre Dame. Hopefully Greg Sankey is reading this thread.

Big10 may have added a big market, but if the eyeballs are not on college football, what is it really worth?
They can’t fill their stadiums even with Will Farrell wearing a skirt and shaking pom poms.

If ND was going to join the B1G, it would have already happened. I believe that pulling in USC was an attempt at luring in ND. However, with ND's history of disagreement with the conference and the fact that they are already a full voting member of the ACC, I don't see them ever jumping to the B1G. They are in a comfortable spot where they are. They can be a conference member but also have their own deal in football with a fall-back option.

You make a lot of valid points. That said, give me Clemson over ND.

Clearly the B1G won the expansion wars adding USC and ICLA, which have a bigger market than the OU and UT additions, and thus generating more revenue for each school in their conference.
Completely disagree.
Look at the top rated games this season. There is no correlation with big markets.
Markets only matter to a small point. People want to see powerhouses and their own college play.
Getting UT and OU is a much stronger get that UCLA and USC.

ACC won the realignment wars, they went from DFL to 2nd
I'm curious as to why you say this. Not only is the Big Ten objectively ahead of the ACC, the ACC is absolutely going to go bust once their Grant of Rights expires in 2036. They didn't add anyone in this latest shuffle, and Clemson/FSU (at bare minimum, obviously UNC/UVA/Duke/Miami will land within minutes) are jumping to the SEC the very moment doing so is financially feasible.

Traditional market size no longer matters. Now it's all about eyes on the TV and what you can charge people to watch, not in-market v. Out-of-market.
Eyes on TV and compelling matches - SEC won the expansion by a mile
