Cost $800,000,000

Must be contracting with the federal government to build it.

They probably don't have a lot of t-shirt fans. Quality over quantity is a nice option.

Thats just under $23k per seat. That is ludicrous. But it looks nice

that's insane to come from a single donor. To put that in perspective, that single donation is around what Kyle Field cost to renovate when they did that massive, more or less, rebuild. Believe that project was around $500 million

I think the final # for Kyle was 485 M if I remember correctly.

We took this.

To This.

I don't understand why it's costing $800 million though. There must be some demolition costs and a bunch of other stuff tagged on to it.

Chicago: where everything construction related is 2-3x what it should cost due to the neo-Mafia graft.

Judging by the artist renderings, I bet it would be louder than a lot of 60,000 and 70,000 and 80,000 seat stadiums.

You'd think so... but then again, it would be Northwestern fans doing the cheering.

Or maybe you're playing 4-D chess and counting on 25-30K fans for the visiting team.

The old Stadium design looked like your average size BIG 12 stadium

And the current one looks a bigger version of Eagle Stadium in Allen, Texas

Read the fine print

The football is not the reason for the building, it will be a secondary use. Looks like the money being spent is to lure concerts. Reminds me of YUM Center in Louisville for Cardinals basketball but the revenue generated by the concerts and truck pulls pays the bills.
