As a fan, Clemsux,UNcarolina and UVA can go to hell wither and die! From a business standpoint, worth discussing but I'd still prefer NCState and VaTech.

Maybe. I don’t remember that being the case with them but I wasn’t paying much attention to it.

youre very much so downplaying the SC Clemson rivalry. Sure we don't have all the titles, but people die almost yearly. Weve pulled guns on each others campus's.

personally would rather have State over UVA, keeps the Carolina schools together and State has decent athletics and decent football. the State, UNC, Clemson, SC grouping in the SEC would be a ton of fun

The brand is just really weak. Certainly seems like they should have a bigger national draw/reputation with 35k students in an attractive state.

Florida St had their chance many years ago and they passed on it. The state of Florida is already in the SEC footprint.
I am surprised that UNC and UVA would want to associate with SEC in any meaningful way. Of course I was surprised that Texas lowered themselves to join the SEC.
I am not sure about Clemson. how much of a fanbase do they have and Sou Car is already in the conference.
If possible I think the SEC needs to have a presence in NC, if there is more expansion. It is a top ten state in population.

[CBS Sports / Barrett Sallee] The SEC isn't negotiating with Florida State, Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia. That's silly.

There are a few Auburn and Bama fans who post on here and live or have lived in South Carolina. Those guys have all said on here previously they'd never seen anything like the depth of hate between Carolina and Clemson. Ppl who aren't exposed first hand think it's simply about sports. Nah. It goes WAY deeper than that. It's based on years and years of fundamental differences between us and them and it has absolutely nothing to do with a game played on Saturday. That dislike is simply a by-product of the other feuding that happens.

I work with a bunch of NC State alumni and have some in-laws that are. You ask them who they are playing this weekend (any sport) and they can’t tell you. They just show up to party outside the stadium and will talk shite if they win. Awful fan base.

Because VT is a knock off SEC school and UVA is UVA
I get your point, but I also see the appeal of having one of America's most prestigious public schools in the conference

Oklahoma and A&M are much better cultural fits than FSU, UNC and Virginia IMO.
