O youngster that is not what that means. It means the person posting has been verified to be the person they say they are and have x number of followers. It does not mean they only post truthful information. If you believe everything a blue check verified person tweets you are seriously delusional of course most youngsters are about social media.

Agree. The SEC needs to expand outside of the south.
The SEC needs to maintain and expand their footprint over and too areas that are growing, like Virginia, NC, SC, and the south.
The Midwest is shrinking.

I couldn't think of 4 worse teams to invite. Well, maybe I could (looking at you UCFKnight), but those are pretty bad.

Bring it. This is what college sports are about.

"According to the source, money is a major factor along with recruiting clashes. Florida reportedly doesn’t want Miami to join, Tennessee doesn’t want UNC, and Kentucky doesn’t want Louisville. Louisville brings in the second-most revenue among ACC schools. Miami’s revenue isn’t public, but it’s estimated that they are near the top as well — plus they bring a hometown team in a huge market. "
It would be really dumb to ignore North Carolina or NC State in expansion just because Tennessee doesn't want them. UNC/NCSU/VA Tech are far more important grabs for the SEC than schools presently in the SEC footprint (GA Tech/Miami/Louisville/Clemson) so "we don't want to give UNC a leg up in recruiting" is a pretty weak argument.

you realize that at this rate if the SEC keeps bringing in teams with "far better football" historic powers are going to start going 7-5,6-6 and worse.
I mean, yeah. The top tier of college football will eventually be closer to the image of the NFL than it will the image of college football from 5 years ago.
Don't get me wrong, I wish we could go back to what college football was. But unfortunately the writing is on the wall.

Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky can all blow me, then. They knew about tu and OU joining and they stayed quiet. Turnabout is fair play.
this. bring them all in. Lets add Tulane and Georgia Tech just to be frickheads.

I tend to agree with you on this sentiment. Let them languish. If we have to do this I love snagging UNC and to a lesser extent UVA.

It’s going to happen regardless of what this board thinks

Some of it, yes. Other parts no.
Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska are all growing.
Also, "the South" is not universally growing either. Louisiana and Mississippi are losing population at about the same pace as Ohio and Michigan.
The significant growth in the south is clustered in Texas, Tennessee, and the southern Atlantic coast.

For those saying VT, they bring basically nothing to the table that’s better than what UVA can offer if you are a college administrator. They aren’t even better at football anymore.

Also he says ESPN is trying to void their ACC deal - which makes no sense. It's a sweat heart deal for ESPN, they are woefully underpaying the ACC for their rights.
The idea is that they would try to void the deal if those 4 teams join the SEC because then they would be massively overpaying for a worse-than-shite product in the ACC without those brands involved.

There's no way that you can say that NCST is a better football program than Clemson
NC State beat them last year so by most recent empirical evidence, NC State >>>> Clemson.
And yeah, 30-0 before anyone throws that shite in our face.
At least we own the state of NC.

I used to think that, but not sure about that anymore. I think either state would likely sacrifice VT and NC State if it was the only way to keep UVA and UNC from getting left behind.
Possibly. I didn't see Oklahoma leaving OSU but it happened.

We vehemently object. They are the reason we told the ACC to kiss our arse and die.

That's... one way of looking at it. The wrong way, sure, but a way nonetheless.
Virginia has academics, basketball and baseball.
Virginia Tech has football (Virginia has beaten them one time since 2004, and it's not like UVA is killing it outside of the Commonwealth Cup) and an overwhelming percentage of the state's fandom.
Virginia Tech is worth a lot more to the SEC than UVA.
