No team should automatically be out for losing a championship game...

But, their performance needs to be considered when making the selection.
Unfortunately, Alabama's performance did them in, not the loss.
I really was hoping to see 5 SEC teams in it.

6:30 on a Sunday morning and LSU fan has Bama on his mind

UVA losing killed Bama’s chances. Committee isn’t leaving the ACC out so they’re going to put Miami in over Bama.

Yes, I loss big on them yesterday.

So punish the team that played in the championship while reward the team that sat at home? Seems like you folks were saying the opposite just last season

I can see a case for Bama being out, but I still need to see justification for why Notre Dame is just automatically expected to be in given an easy schedule. Miami, who I have never been a big fan of, sits next to them with the same strength of schedule, number of losses and beat Notre Dame head to head.

They were embarrassed yesterday! Getting beat by 21 should definitely get them left out. You hate to see it!

Bama didn’t just lose the SECCG they got prison raped in addition to having possibly the worst loss of any potential CFP team in the FSU game. Face it Bama is undeserving. I don’t think they’re making it in.

CG games need to end. Especially in conferences that don’t have divisions.

It's so funny to me that this wasn't ever even a hint of consideration just 2 years ago, when UGA went from winning 30 games in a row and being wire to wire #1 that year but lost by 3 in the SECCG and was bounced in the palyoffs, but now that bama picked up a 3rd loss via arse beating we have to either change criteria or do away with the SECCG altogether to ensure they make it.
It'd be hilarious if it wasn't so blatant

UVA killed ND’s chances. Bama is 100% in and they’ll be joined by Miami. ND is out.

That was different with a 4 team playoff... 12 teams is much more forgiving.

No, punish the team that got destroyed on national TV in the championship game.

This is all speculation based on what happened last year with SMU in the 12 team format.

It was a 4-team playoff which primed the importance of the CCG making it a de facto playoff.

forgiving to the point that you apparently have to lose 4 times to be left out.
Is that what a playoff should be?

USA Today fwthiw is projecting Bama out at the moment

Miami was already in as the committee had already moved them into a position to compare them with ND and it was said the head-to-head would be factored in for the final ranking.
The question now does ND stay in over Alabama. Based on Alabama's performance ND and Miami both should be in but will see if the committee pushes Alabama out for having to play one more game and against a team we beat on their home field this season which seems to be a media talking point.
