You don’t have to have a lot of money to live a good life. Californians might have money, but that state is a calamity. Unless you want to pay reparations, have experimental drugs forced on you, pay ridiculous state income tax, have second amendment rights violated, have your children brainwashed into mutilating themselves. If those things are appealing to you then you ought to book a flight to LA

The definition of a third-world country is that it isn't aligned with NATO or the former Warsaw Pact. It has nothing to do with economic status.

If the Rose Bowl is indicative the residents of LA and the surrounding areas will barely notice there is a sporting event going on. Traffic will be screwed up but no worse than usual. We spent the week in LA in January 2018 for the Rose Bowl and most of the time there was almost no sign there was a game that week. Or a parade, for that. Nothing like what you see in Atlanta for the SEC CG or even a normal Peach Bowl. Nothing like you would see in Arlington Texas if the game was at Jerry World. The immediate area around the stadium will look like there is a game on but 95% of town will look like just another Monday.
And LA is a lousy place for what its worth. Very similar to Atlanta without ANY of the charm. As Harry Lockhart said in "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" "It’s like someone took America by the East Coast and shook it, and all the normal girls managed to hang on"....this applies to all people in California, not just women....
