who would be #4? I see all of this stuff about Alabama's chances dwindling. Now, winning out for them is an absolute necessity.

I really don't know much about Oregon and Utah. Maybe there are some things about them that are impressive. Oklahoma should have lost to Iowa State. Minnesota and Baylor are fun teams, but really?

Don't count Alabama out.

They'll be out if the big or pac 12 champion has one or fewer losses.

I’m guessing it will be whoever wins the pac 12 assuming they still only have one loss.

We have a few appointments first, but we may raise a dispute over one of those teams.

Alabama will probably be 4th in this week's rankings. They don't have a chance at the playoffs though unless some of the other conference frontrunners trip up.

Oregon or Minnesota should get #4.

Alabama would only be #4 because of the fact that they're Alabama. One of the reasons the College Football Playoff was instituted was to prevent the same groups of teams always competing for the Natty based on resumes of reputation.

I want to see Minnesota win out and get that #4 spot. Talk about a Cinderella season.

That game will turn out as disappointing as when Michigan State made it.

Right now it should be Minnesota.

I think if Oregon wins out it would likely be 1-1 versus CFP Top 25 teams (Auburn (L) and Utah (W).

If Utah wins out it would likely be 1-0 versus CFP Top 25 (Oregon (W).

That's because right now the CFP only has 2 PAC12 teams ranked in the Top 25 and not sure any other team out there will sneak into the final rankings.

Oregon's loss to Auburn at a neutral site would be an interesting point of discussion I'm sure if they were deciding between Oregon and an 11-1 Alabama coming off a win at Jordan Hare.

What happens if Clemson and LSU go undefeated and Minnesota beats tOSU? Then wtf happens? I'm actually hoping, with all my heart, that this happens. A 1 loss tOSU vs a 1 loss Alabama vs a 1 loss "other" conference champ. The spin would be sensational.

This is the single greatest hope for ESPN, possibly with Baylor winning out too.

Make no mistake, ESPN and TV marketing is driving this boat, and such an occurence would be the excuse they need to expand the playoffs to 8 teams.

The bowls weren't quite dead when the playoffs started, but they are now. And that was the only real reason we didn't see a bigger playoff field to begin with.

That team is about Auburn's level at best.

That's the truth. No talking head ever brings up about making the Rose bowl or Sugar bowl. It's all playoffs or bust.

Maybe, but it would still be a fun story line.

That would require Minny to beat OSU indoors on a neutral field. If they do that, then they sure as hell can compete with most teams

You really do not know what the frick you are talking about do you?

There would not be a committee if reputation and resume and a whole host of other things were not considered in the rankings...
