Chubb, Michel, Marshall, Douglas are all more proven and beg to differ

They'll probably get up, shake it off and be watching their backups play the 4th quarter like always

It's an old joke.

When a recruit would choose a school over UT, some dumbass would say "Can't wait till he meets Eric Berry coming over the middle".

The night Lane Kiffin left for USC, "Can't wait till he meets Eric Berry coming over the middle".

When my ex and I separated, " Can't wait till she meets Eric Berry coming over the middle ".

If they were all coming out for the draft, I guarantee Fournette would be chosen 1st.

You are talking about the same guy w/ a 4.35s 40, right?

You don't actually believe he runs a 4.35 right?
Talking about Fournette

yes, I think his speed is legit. As is his size and strength. You do realize people are a little disappointed and are waiting for "the light to go on"... with a freshman who had a 1000 yd season.

Henry takes too long to get started but I definitley wouldn't call him soft. He looks for contact in the open field. He's just too tall and clumsy at the LOS. If we were smart we'd run a lot more stretch and toss plays for him next season.

This is what I think is Henry's problem.

"He did not show it much last year. Having straight ahead speed is one thing, have the speed and balance after contact is another."

The type of offense that LSU ran didn't give him a lot of opportunities to be in the open field.

Given the chance, he will show good vision, balance, lateral movement, and elusiveness, along with blazing straightawy speed.

So, you are expecting Myles to change his offensive philosophy in the coming season?

And do you realize that Chubb was a freshman that ran for 1500+ yards last season in spite of not starting the first five games and getting VERY few carries in those games?

Look....nobody isn't saying Fournette isn't a legit talent. he is good. maybe he will eclipse Chubb before they leave. Maybe. But last year you guys pumped Fournette so high there was no way he could live up to they hype. This season you guys have him going #1 in the NFL draft? Wow.

Hurd is a great back. Auburn came up with a great RB this year. Arkansas has a couple of excellent backs and Alabama has talent stockpiled.

Why don't we all just wait and see how it all shakes out before crowning our favorite back the king of the hill?

1. Leonard Fournette, LSU: Arguably the most physically-gifted running back in the SEC — not only now, but for years — Fournette didn’t put together a complete season as a true freshman, but he dazzled enough to produce one heck of a season highlight video. He still managed five 100-yard games. By bowl season, he was as electrifying as any back in the country. We could be looking at one of, if not the, best running backs in the country in 2015.

It sounds like he mistook Chubb for Fagette and shorted him some stats.

What is funny is almost everyone in this thread and has prefaced their opinion with "LF is a very good, maybe even future great back" and yet LSU folks still seem offended that people think Chubb is better.

And Bammers are the crazy ones.

Fournette is overrated.

Personally, I can't wait till he meets Eric Berry coming over the middle.

It's because they were told he was God coming in and still believe that.

Do I think he could be the best back in the country this year? Absolutely.

Based on last year alone has he proven himself to be the best back in the SEC? No, and every stat other than Kick Return backs that up.

Probably not by much. Improved QB play could open things up.
