No CFP Ban lol. See 2025 Bama Bediako. MM #4 seed.

How do they not get LSU is completely protected under injunction, and if federal court reversed, LSU will simply drop the players just like Bama basketball. Kiffin has said, we’ll only follow court orders.
Alabama 2025 Bediako could not be possibly more of a blueprint of how this plays out. Played 3 yr pro Bediako (not 7 week pro) who also had no 5 for 5 case to make. Bama finished 23-9, and gets a very generous #4 seed from committee on 4 seed.
I get March madness is directly under ncaa and CFP isn’t, but injunction lists any protected punishment from SEC, NCAA, their officers, agents, employees, representatives, successors, assigns, members, and all persons acting in concert or participation with them.. the CFP made up of NCAA Team AD’s as 12 committee members would fall under the above.
Can’t get in trouble for what is court ruled eligible at the time.

Alabama didin't play the player after the rule came down he couldn't play. The rule has been in place for over a week before LSU even puts them on the roster. Its an apples to Tesla comparison.

Incorrect. NCAA definitely had a rule in Feb 2026 that professionals couldn’t play which is the exact reason NCAA brought the case upon Bediako. CFP and SEC are different things. CFP falls way more under NCAA umbrella, has nothing to do with SEC.
When you add that above to injunction which prohibiting unfair punishment, LSU is scotch free protected by courts and prior examples.

Thats what started this mess. The fact the SEC mostly sat on their hands for that one and now want to go nuclear is whats going to be hard for them to overcome in court. The judge plainly saw the SEC as inconsistent with it's application of bylaws and called them out for it.

He played in G league 3 years, NCAA denied eligibility to return, sued for TRO in Tuscaloosa court and wins 10-day TRO, plays for 10 days in 6 games, after 10 days the courts denied continuation/further injunction, then he stops playing.
He just followed the courts and the SEC was against him playing. Sankey endorsed/sided with NCAA on this publicly, but he was allowed to play for Bama for those 10 days and there have been no repercussions from it.
And yes, SEC rules clearly state they follow and enforce NCAA eligibility requirements. So he was in fact breaking SEC and NCAA rules for those 10 days. As is Chambliss this season for the same reason.

The SEC claims this is not a new rule and is a longstanding rule and was just a reiteration of their policy

2 things you are missing:
1) NCAA tournament committee is a part of the NCAA, the CFP is a separate entity. TROs against the NCAA automatically apply to the selection committee but not the CFP
2) basketball has a 35 game season, football plays 12 (and really only 9 -10 that matter)
Even if the committee threw out the bediako games, Bama’s resume deserved a tournament seed. Assuming the LSU players play in more than 2 meaningful games, the committee can say that LSU does not have a good enough resume without them.
This is a lot more likely than a blanket CFP ban by the way and as a subjective vs objective standard almost impossible to challenge in court

It is an apples to apples comparison. Bama didn’t play Bedihko when the court no longer said he was eligible.
