People don't follow money and opportunity away from Athens.
Lanning and Monken have left in the last couple of seasons.
And considering there were no national titles and only two SEC titles between the Herschel Walker era and the Kirby Smart era, I don’t know how many big time programs were breaking the bank for UGA coaches.
Until Kirby’s very recent success, UGA has been an underachieving program. Maybe all the players and coaches have been too distracted by all the amazing things in Athens to focus on football.

Are you always this obtuse?
Kirby was the running backs coach for UGA in 2005.
He got a promotion to coach for the Miami Dolphins.
No Georgia fan is asserting that UGA coaches are sandbagging careers and promotions just to live in Athens.

They are located in the heart of a talent-rich state and the only other P5 school they have in their state to compete with is Georgia Tech
If only we were recruiting only in Georgia. Does Alabama get kids from Georgia? Yes. Does FSU recruit in Georgia? Yes. Does Clemson recruit in Georgia? Yes. Does Auburn recruit in Georgia? Yes. Does Ohio State recruit in Georgia? Yes. Does Michigan recruit in Georgia? Yes and it goes on and on and on.
The days of teams recruiting and having some huge advantage for talent in their own state went away when TV contracts brought our games all over the country. internet services lets California schools know about talent in Georgia. It's not some secret. And kids, especially in today's game have very little loyalty to their home state school.
Georgia's top 6 recruits came from out of state last year.
Georgia's top 10 recruits in 2022? 5 from Georgia.
I can promise you, that because of their history, Alabama has had a huge advantage in recruiting.
But...if you want to think Georgia is the best college football job in the country? We'll take it.

The head coach is responsible for everything.
I'm aware of this; however, being responsible for everything doesn't mean everything is granted equal importance. Some things are more crucial to sustained success in college football than others.
I don't think you learn "how" to recruit from being a head coach, but rather from the previous head coach you work for. You typically don't learn the "how" of complex roles once they're thrust upon you - tweak, refine, customize as your own, sure. Not the "how" though.
Folks aren't given a scalpel and a patient to learn "how" to operate. That comes after a lot of information has already been imparted onto you.

So, you agree that Saban learned how to do all that from someone else?

And it’s those things that saban had from the start at bama, at least more so than Kirby did because…….

True, and in regards to this, 12 years Head coaching experience > 8 years assistant coaching experience
And it’s not even including close. Absurd to see you continue to argue the opposite of this.
