Thanks. I was just trying to get the thread back on topic, as we were discussing the favorites for SEC Def POY.
Yeah and a good look at it is a unbiased source who grades guys on every single snap they play, thats why i posted that.

I'd argue Kentucky's Deone Walker is up there (sadly Max Hairston would be at DB if he didn't have his current hospitalization, he was on fire before he had his injury than got hospitalized).
Deone's impact doesn't always show up in the stats though. He's almost always double teamed. That guy is a massive anchor on Kentucky's defense.

Too early to do all this stuff but Scourton is truly special. He's getting sacks and TFL's and he makes the guys around him better by taking so much attention. The Read Option play where he changed directions and got the sack on Saturday was insane athleticism for a guy his size, that kind of play puts you at the top of Draft boards because there are very few guys in the NFL who can do something like that much less CFB.
Landon Jackson is a complete stud as well.

We are not halfway through the SEC schedule Beavis...

I think we are misunderstanding the topic. OP wants to talk about an aggy player rather than the DPOY.

Scourton certainly is having a great season so far. Players that win these type of awards generally are on teams that finish 1 or 2 in the league, and it's too early to project that.
Find him on Twitter and send him this.

He wants to talk about both, genius.
You can tell by the thread title.

And you can tell by aggy replies that they're really interested in one. You can say I want to talk about tacos and burgers in a thread title but if the thread is only talking about tacos, it's a misleading thread title.

It's more like this:
I want to talk about taco meat and tacos.
One becomes the other.

I think Scourton should be getting a real hard look at SEC POY. I realize that is far, far from open and shut, and want to welcome other posters to bring up other guys who should get a look.
For example, I replied to the OU poster who brought up Mason Thomas. That dude is a player and a good suggestion.
If there aren't any decent LSU candidates, and as a result you have nothing to add to the thread, don't blame me.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned that DE from Arkansas. I have been really, really impressed with the Arkansas defense.

Pretty early to name someone defensive player of the year. Heck, even Texas's freshman edge has more tackles and only .5 sacks behind with significantly fewer snaps.

Also hasn't played a competent offense, which also explains the horns' defensive stats writ large.

Deone Walker laughs at this op.
