No, that only says they can't play for LSU. They can sign with any other college they want.
They can’t sign with any SEC team. Or big 10 team. Or ACC team. Or Big 12 team. Or AAC team. Because all those leagues have rules prohibiting it too.

I love the way both the NFL and OM decided to deliver their "news" this week.

Blame ole Miss for the civil lawsuits these young men will now win against the SEC/Sankey amateurism facade.
Amateurs don’t sign contracts? How can they be sued for breach of contract?

That’s really unfortunate guy.
You should work through that with a professional.
This ain’t the place for that though.

She’s dead so you can pay her whatever you want. Do you want me to send you the Venmo?
She was never a family sexual abuse therapist so she never would have been able to help you regardless.

Somehow I'm sure this is also a huge win for LSU and they once again showed that bad, bad man Sankey who is the boss.
Advantage LSU.
Advantage LSU.

And when did these "rules" come about? Before or after they left the training camps and filed the TRO?
Could the government pass a law then retroactively apply that law to people who broke it before it was a law? Hell no, but this is essentially what these conferences did.. like I said, its all bull$h!t! No consistency in making rules, following rules, punishing players or teams. Its just a joke but if y'all don't have the objectivity to recognize this hypocrisy then no sense in trying to have a conversation with that level of stupid.

Fixed this for you! Go back and look at the time line of events. SEC changing rules after the game started.

quote:The SEC has always implemented the NCAA’s amateurism rules. The fact that the NCAA has been prevented from enforcing that standard, as a monopoly, does not mean that the SEC (not a monopoly) can be barred from enforcing that standard on antitrust grounds. Some LSU fan sitting in the bench in Baton Rouge doesn’t get to rewrite the SEC rule book at his whim.
The SEC is not entitled to retroactively implement rules that fly in the face of a court order. The NCAA is not entitled to write rules that clearly unfairly disadvantage one high school class. And the US government wrote the rulebook on antitrust, so at least that answer is clear.
You might be barred from spanking someone else’s child but that doesn’t mean they are barred, too.

Antitrust encompasses making rules that suppress free trade. Doesn’t matter who makes the rule & in this case has nothing at all to do with monopolies.
