This isn’t a newsflash. Every Texas fan knows deep down they are average at best regarding major sports. Outside of swimming and other sports similar to Frisbee golf, they are middle of the pack. They do less with more money than any other program. If they were an actually business, their investors would declare bankruptcy. They might win a title in one of the big three sports every 20-30 years, but it will never be more than that.

uh, because the 22 million in basketball will actually make a few million back, while baseball is a net loser no matter what. Lol

No argument here. Always been a football and baseball school first. But it is a little crazy how our basketball program hasn't been able to find a gear. For like 15-20 years now.
That said aggy who we beat this year is probably the last school here that should be throwing any stones re basketball.

In order to make a few million back, UTrans fans would have to care about basketball and actually go to the games. Most of the UTrans fans on this site are saying that they could care less about basketball. I guess most of the fans on this site are actually tshirt fans and have probably never set foot on the UTrans campus. Actual grads would actually care about all sports UTrans sponsors.

interesting, there was a thread on here from you guys about how we couldn't fill the arena for Florida. but now we care because the basketball program makes money, like every other P4 basketball program.

Also to suck at something in college basketball would mean you are not even considered for the NIT, given Texas is a bubble team I don’t see how you can say we “suck”

Texas didn’t beat A&M. They “split” with A&M which whorn fans seem to forget. 1-1 was the record. We aren’t even in the same universe from a talent standpoint and still finished safely in with a better record. Texas is probably going to be in Dayton

I’m well aware we split but last I checked Texas “beat” atm in basketball this season that’s a fact. If we sucked so bad you would have bested us both games.
