Maybe he was bidding against himself?

Wade is a damn good coach and it cements that no big time program will come sniffing around wanting to hire Wade. He will be at LSU for a long time.
I like this analysis and hope you're right.

Who cares if Wade is fired or not?

That's part of what makes this saga entertaining. He's good, but not "worth it" good. This is like when Ole Miss fans tried to cling to the Reverend, and it's hilarious.

If LSU had a good program, they'd rebound quickly after Wade - especially if they fired him on their own terms.

Mr. Saucer here obviously doesn't understand how sanctions work...shocker!

I mean if there were gonna be sanctions I'd imagine they would be less if LSU went ahead and fired Wade.

I just don't think he's good enough for all this. A school like Auburn that doesn't have much of a basketball history sticking with the bona fide 2nd best coach in the league? That makes sense

LSU who has a decent history in basketball sticking with a guy who is probably around the 5th best coach? Eh idk

A 1st and a 2nd place finish in the conference through his first 3 seasons of a complete rebuild. Seems like he's doing pretty good to me.

Wade is going to get canned though. Woodward hates him.

Woodward hates Wade? You know this how?

Johny Jones had just had LSU in the tourney a couple years prior and had two top 3 SEC appearances himself. LSU certainly was rebuilding, but not in a state of shite like when Bruce Pearl or Ben Howland took over their jobs.

Wade is a good recruiter and an okay coach. He has done a solid job but like I said he would be my 4th or fifth pick as a coach amongst SEC coaches.

Lol Pat Forde is such a count. I've never seen someone continue rolling with a story for 2 years even after the NCAA did nothing.

LSU won 2 conference games the year Wade took over and only 2 players returned from that team. It was a complete teardown and rebuild.

Eta: Actually I think it may have been the 2nd season that only 2 players returned from the previous season.

It was a rebuild, but I guess my point more so is that even a guy like Johny Jones, who is a very bad coach, was still able to have a bit of success at LSU. When you compare it to the former coaches at places like Auburn and State, it isn't even close.

Eh, it deserves to be looked into at least. Let the NCAA do a full investigation and if they can’t find anything then so be it. I think that’s the reasonable position that everybody can agree on.

Kansas has been hit with a "lack of institutional control".

quote:

The NCAA served Kansas with a notice of allegations in September stemming from the college basketball bribery scandal that led to the criminal prosecution of several former Adidas employees and consultants. The notice included five Level I violations, the most serious under NCAA rules.

quote:

Among the most serious charges were lack of institutional control by the school and head coach responsibility violations by Jayhawks coach Bill Self. The football program was cited for Level II violations.

AAU basketball would make SMU football in the 1980’s blush. So much money being paid to Nike recruits and Nike schools. It’s sickening.

This screams hope. Hope that the NCAA does nothing. Hope that Will Wade comes out of this unscathed.

Newsflash: He will resign/be fired this off-season.

The longer LSU keeps him employed, the longer their penalty should be, in my opinion.
