Kid forgot a word. But fans and team rallied around him. And head coach Patty Gasso gave some encouragement too

Yes, to me anyway, but I'm from Texas and know the difference and purpose between tortillas and tacos. I'll take a guess and assume others questioning the "taco tech" thing are also from Texas, as of course is Tech.
BTW, tacos don't fling nor fly near as well as tortillas do.

The first place I heard Taco Tech was on the old SurlyBevo site during the Mack Brown years. It's been around forever.

The way they are presenting the seeds this time is taking me some getting used to. I assume baseball will be the same way.

Innocent question, where does the taco tech stuff come from? They're tortilla flingers, not taco whatever.
Teams have more than one pejorative nickname... You all certain do. My team does as well...
But my favorite one for Texas Tech is "Sand Aggys"...

This is frankly mind-blowing to me. I think we need to get to the bottom of it for sure.
You do understand that the only essential ingredient for a taco is indeed a folded tortilla, right?
Directly from Websters: Taco NOUN :a crispy or soft corn or wheat tortilla that is folded or rolled and stuffed with a mixture (as of seasoned meat, cheese, and lettuce)
Are you saying it has to be a fried corn tortilla to be a taco? That used to be a regional difference with flour being more popular farther west, but I've seen even that largely disappear over the last 3 or 4 decades. Both corn and wheat tacos are extremely popular everywhere I've been, and regardless of that, both have been eaten in Texas and Oklahoma since the cattle drive days and I would imagine much longer than that.
And a corn tortilla is still very much a tortilla. What else would you call it? Do people not understand that hard taco shells are fried tortillas?
If that's not it, and you're simply saying that a tortilla is not a taco....well, yeah.
But holy shite, it seems like a pretty easy and natural jump to associate tortillas and tacos.
Do you consider wheat tortillas to only be used in burritos? That's a wild thought to me, but I have to ask. A burrito has the tucked-in ends that make it look like a donkey's head, thus the name.
I am extremely curious to see what the disconnect is here. What could it possibly be? I might lose sleep over this if it doesn't get resolved.

That's absolutely the best one for them.
Man, we used to have a hundred different kinds of Aggies for seemingly every school with "State" in the name. And also that one for Tech.
KSU was simply Purple Aggie. Mississippi State was Klan Aggie. Corn Aggie for ISU.

Klan Aggie was Ole Miss hope that helps.
Lane Kiffin even alluded to it creating the firestorm he eventually tried to walk back. Yes he didn't say Aggie but he insinuated the rest.

Not in this case. This was something different from the OU boards long ago. It was about the State/Ag/Tech schools, not the flagships, stemming from OSU formerly being the Oklahoma A&M Aggies. I think Mississippi State was formerly an A&M, but it didn't even go that deep. State = Aggies.
