The NCAA announced its updated COVID-19 guidances for all fall sports on Wednesday afternoon. The guidances are recommendations set forth by the association for athletics programs to consider along with CDC, local, federal and state guidelines.

"Current vaccination rates remain inadequate to provide community-level immunity," NCAA Chief Medical Officer Brian Hainline said in a statement. "It is essential that member schools work in concert with federal, state and local public health officials to develop COVID-19 prevention and management strategies that make sense for them."

Individuals who are fully vaccinated will not need to undergo routine testing. However, should they experience COVID-19 symptoms or be exposed to someone who has contracted the virus, testing is to be administered.

Those who are unvaccinated will be expected to undergo testing within three to five days of arrival on campus. Additionally, unvaccinated individuals will also need to take part in weekly PCR/NAAT testing or antigen testing three times a week.

In athletics activities, both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals will not be required to wear masks during training and competition. However, unvaccinated persons must don masks during team travel.

Why are people who are vaccinated worried about the unvaccinated?

Can’t believe how many articles I’ve read where a vaccinated author says, “You’re putting people in danger!”

Bruh, the people who are scared of it got the vaccine by now. If the rest of the people don’t want it and get sick and die that’s on them.

A better question is, why are they worried about themselves? The "vaccine" works.....doesn't it?

They need something to identify the unvaccinated players so people know to stay away from them and blame them for everything. Maybe a gold star on their uniform or something like that?

Give me one, single solitary example of a college athlete being hospitalized from this. That’s a pretty low frickin bar, right? Do y’all remember last year when they guaranteed us playing would result in at least three players dying? I do. And that was before the vaccine.

Until then, shut the frick up. You have no science, nor credibility, to back this up.

Scientifically speaking, it has nothing to do with my concern for the individual. Rather, the vaccination rate needs to be high enough to enact an actual herd immunity to curb the speed at which new variants develop. When only half the population is vaccinated, it provides a short term protection to the vaccinated but poses a longterm threat to see vaccine resistant strains develop.

On a superficial level, I couldn’t give a shite less what other people do with their lives. But sometimes large scale cooperation is a good a thing

It’s not about them! It’s about their Grandma or Grandpa who they could spread it to!

Buttt buttt butt shouldn’t gramps and grandma be vaccinated? Then what’s the problem!
