I think this just speaks to how terrible Stillwater, and the state of Oklahoma, is in general

It's not a Stillwater nor a state of OK issue...it's a Microtel issue (the name of their hotel).

Because the host school or ncaa should do a visual inspection of each team hotel before teams move in.

I think Microtel should revoke that franchise as well

Soft as Charmin, Jesus Christ, you sissies must have never lived in old school dorms or frat houses.
So it wouldn't bother you to stay in a hotel room with bedbugs, somebody else's hair on your sheets, and a bloodstain on the carpet?

Since I started traveling for work again I have noticed hotels are for the most part grosser now because of the short staffs / not regular cleaning.

Hattiesburg got a tournament and there's a room shortage due to a travel ball tournament.

They should bid them shits like the old days.

According to the 2021-22 NCAA Division I Baseball Host Operations Manual, the tournament manager is responsible for making housing arrangements for each team and all hotels should be of equal quality. It notes that the visiting teams are responsible for confirming the final arrangements.

NCAA taking budget cuts by making guys stay at Microtel. I imagine that if there's a disagreement on the hotel, the school would have to either pay for their own hotel or maybe pay a difference on an upgraded hotel. Regardless, these are disgusting conditions. Whoever is the general manager of that location needs to be put in prison.

So you definetly never stayed in an old dorm or a frat house.

Bed Bugs are common at Ritz Carltons as well as they have a lot of rich internationals from shite hole countries.

Never had a single bit or visible bed bugs while at the Ritz or Four Seasons.

Google bed bugs and high end hotels....

Huge problem.

I have flown over 4million miles and spent several thousand nights in hotels from the Waldorf to super 8. Though mostly at hilton properties.

I've lived in a dorm that was old enough to have one bathroom per floor.

Again, you're trying to act tough because it wouldn't bother you to stay in a hotel room with bedbugs, other people's hair on your sheets, and a bloodstain on the carpet?

Did you also pay for having someone else's dirty clothing on the floor of your room? Or their fake eyelashes, hair on your pillows and a blood stain on the carpet?

Bed bugs all over the furniture and floor are only a fraction of the filth in those pictures of that roach motel.

I don't see how this is some sort of controversy.

A Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Suites, Microtel, Fairfield, etc. is the lineup of hotels in most mid sized college towns throughout the country.

That one of these mediocre branded hotels sucks doesn't really seem like it's worth getting worked up about. Assuming that level of hotel is a normal/average place to stay for some regional school like Missouri State, it seems more like bad luck than some structural issue with hosting. Now, if we're at the stage in college athletics that teams only stay at full flagged Hiltons/Marriotts and boutique lines, then I can see how it's annoying to suddenly downgrade while playing in the postseason. But I doubt that's the case with Missouri State baseball.

As bad as that is, something potentially worse is happening in Statesboro. There is a hotel shortage. UNCG is having to stay an hour or more away in Savannah. Not sure if it's the NCAA or the hosting school that handles this, but this is a major oopsies.

The host site should be able to provide basic necessities. Is a clean room, somewhat near the field a lot to ask?

You think host schools should provide hotel/dorm rooms? The traveling school is responsible to make those arrangements. A simple google search shows a ton of complaints about that hotel. From no hot water, to cleanliness, to a car wash next door running all night.

I could have guaranteed that would happen. And quite frankly, staying in Savannah is far and away the best move of it means not having to spend the night in Statesboro (no matter how nice the hotel, of which there are none)
