Why is everyone scared of Louisiana? I, for one, am not.

The fact that you speak of LA places like you've been just solidifies that you are like so many others.... jumped on the bama only because saban was winning championships.

Right or wrong I strongly suspect the players aren't aware of that. Because they were very likely told by LSU that LSU would cover the buyout and it wouldn't be coming out of their pocket.

Just guessing, but I suspect the issue is that this money counts against LSU's $20.5 mil rev share amount they are legally allowed to spend and I would guess they didn't account for the $1 mil that's currently due to Ole Miss which counts against that amount. Not because LSU doesn't have the money, but because they can't make it fit it the legal rev share amount when considering what they've already paid / promised other players.

That's a lot of guessing and speculation.

Basically, LSU's involvement in this situation is a great big "maybe".

All depends on whether LSU reps said to agents, "Don't worry about the buyout, we'll pay it." If so LSU on the hook and the players come out ok.

So yes there is quite a bit of potential for LSU to be involved. You think players switched schools for less money?

More guesses and maybes. This just looks desperate on your part.

As is everything you post. As is everything most people post on this site. Welcome to your first sports message board I guess.

Most reasonable people put that involvement as more than just "maybe"

Technically, LSU isn't involved in this specific contract dispute at all. If they made promises to the players, then that's between LSU and the players.

This specific dispute is between the players and Ole Miss.

Sure. But "involvement in the situation" isn't the same as "directly involved as a party to the lawsuit in court"

What would you say is probably the more likely scenario here?

1. Kiffin/Glasscock have no understanding of how the profit share "cap" works. This one is kind of laughable since money can be easily funneled to players in other ways.

2. Kiffin/Glasscock promised $1M and LSU just can't come up with it.

3. Some combination of Kiffin/the players/Glasscock are fricking with Ole Miss.

As an aside, if I'm Keith Carter and I'm seriously trying to recover the money, and I have legitimate legal footing, I'd call Kiffin and Verne, give them a deadline and then file suit if it's not met.

Instead, he's out here crying to an Ole Miss beat writer about how they need the money and they're exploring ways to get it or whatever. Which could include suing players.

Another LA bama fan that likely has legal reasons as to why they haven't moved out of the state yet.
