I guess they aren't meaningful this early but I didn't expect to be that high seeing as our SOS is bad overall.
Not complaining though. These are things we can tweet about and hopefully recruits notice.

We are way to high. We winning but winning ugly against some weak competition.

Jans looking like a solid hire so far
And that was a pretty bad MSU team he inherited

NET messed up when it changed its formula a few years ago. Everybody overemphasizes offensive and defensive efficiency now. It used to be a vastly under utilized metric and now it is over represented in most of these rankings, imo. We’ve de-emphasized wins and losses and strength of schedule too much.

True, but Auburn has yet to hit the meat of their schedule. Your Net SOS is 297th.
You'll move up if you keep winning when you get to the stronger part of your OOC schedule - Memphis, USC and Washington should help it some.

Auburn has played a Big 10 team. That's not considered Quad 1?

No. Quads are based on opponents rank and whether you play home/away.
quote:
Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75. Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135. Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240. Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353.

Ole miss will be here to provide lots of good quality road quad 2/3 wins for the top half of the SEC this year. You’re welcome

Northwestern is ranked 76th.
quote:
Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353
You played them on a neutral field, so they would have to be 50th. Considering that out of the 8 games they've played, 2 were Q3 and 4 were Q4 (and lost one of the Q3 games), they'd be hard pressed to be higher than where they are.
Quadrant rankings take home field advantage very seriously.
