So Tennessee's argument is that there was no loss of institutional control, yet they punished the head coach and the AD.

This isn’t a will Wade or Brandon Miller thing were the university actively kept bad actors.

This shite here cracks me up and is why Tennessee fans shouldn’t be taken seriously. If Pruitt had a SEC championship like Will Wade or a potential 1 seed on the line like Bama we would have never heard about this story. Turns out he was a bad coach so they used this to fire him for cause. I don’t think they should get further punishment but y’all are going to have to spare us the sanctimony.

You had Fulmer as AD at that time. That's as bad an actor as you can get.

And he was fired along with Pruitt. He is no longer associated with the university.

Fired Fulmer as AD over it. Kinda blows holes in your theory.

The AD, and coaches are not the institution. As soon as the institution was aware of what was transpiring the institution acted.

Not at all actually. The football team was underperforming with Fulmer as AD. That’s usually enough for people to want the AD gone.

So the school had no idea what the coaching staff was doing? Sounds like a lack of institutional control.

Wrong! The 5 assistant negotiated their punishments with the NCAA for their cooperation. Neids and Felton admitted to hiding it from the University, they also admitted to lying to intentionally mislead the investigation that the Institution initiated. Once the Institution was made aware of what Pruitt and Staff was doing, they cleaned house, including removing Fulmer as AD. So if the coaches admitted to concealing it from the Institution, then why would they be charge with “Lack Of Institutional Control”? In fact “LOIC” was never one of the infractions the NCAA charged UT for. UT also notified the NCAA and told them. The NCAA didn’t catch anyone, so I don’t expect anything much to happen to the Institution that hasn’t already been self imposed in 2020, 2021 and 2022.

So if the University had zero involvement then it’s all good in the eyes of the NCAA? Interesting.

The university has already been punished with self imposed sanctions, and took the lead in investigating this matter. They cleaned house from AD to off the field staff. The university didn’t cover this up, didn’t contribute to this, immediately took steps to end/resolve it. This isn’t a will Wade or Brandon Miller thing were the university actively kept bad actors.

ALL this while Auburn self-imposed brutal penalties, fired coaches on Pearl's staff AND they still got 5 yrs probation + scholly reductions. Auburn University didn't do shite, Chuck Persons did. AU didn't cover up anything, cooperated throughout the investigation and sat 2 starters for an entire season and they still got sanctions & probation.

Pruitt is not getting 10 years for handing out like 20k. Especially not when NIL came about within a couple of years later. The NCAA would get sued into the dark ages.

Little Nicky obviously is not training his assistants on how to handle the inducements very well. I mean, other than Kirby...

The NCAA might not be as forgiving as the UT fans. Especially given their history of cheating

NIL wasn’t around when Pruitt was handing out the McDonalds sacks. It was a major violation in a program with a long history of breaking the rules

No one can beat those inducements the dancing Queen is offering at LSU. What 18 year old can resist an old southern speaking guy grinding on them?
