The staff involved admitted guilt and took deals 3-5 year show cause.

Pruitt fighting a likely 10 year show cause and Vols fighting further unreasonable punishment.

“Unreasonable” punishment? You gotta be kidding! McDonalds sacks filled with cash!!! Among other violations. UT will be lucky if they dont get the death penalty. That’s exactly what they deserve

Chick-fil-A sacks, 2 of them totaling 12,000 done by the Pruitts. And it got them fired. The university didn’t violate the rules, specific coaches and staff did. The Vols were not hit with lack of institutional control and already self imposed reasonable punishments for any school involvement.

So yes any additional penalties to the school would be overkill. 12 scholarships in 2021 and multiple years of recruiting restrictions, disassociation from AD Fulmer, bowl ban in 2020 is sufficient given UTs thorough house cleaning and investigation.

The Vols will get already punishment served. They where never charged with “Lack of Institutional control”. That’s the big one. UT has fought hard to place the 100% of the blame on the coaches. UT claims the coaches went to great lengths to hide the fact they was cheating. The school also claims they never knew. The 5 staff members that was handed down punishment even admitted they concealed and mis lead the university in its investigation. I think UT will be fine and I think the NCAA will be fine with the self imposed penalties that UT has already handed down.

This whole thing seems insane in the age of NIL and not punishing accessories to murder.

So if the University had zero involvement then it’s all good in the eyes of the NCAA? Interesting.

His assistants got 3-5, Pruitt gets 10 which is why he is fighting it.

The university has already been punished with self imposed sanctions, and took the lead in investigating this matter. They cleaned house from AD to off the field staff. The university didn’t cover this up, didn’t contribute to this, immediately took steps to end/resolve it. This isn’t a will Wade or Brandon Miller thing were the university actively kept bad actors.

You had Fulmer as AD at that time. That's as bad an actor as you can get. He carries a bag full of LOIC on his own. Self imposed may mitigate some but prepare yourself for more.

For Pruitt’s not to get 10 year show cause. He will have to turn in Alabama and Georgia also.
